Can beta hcg level high but still not pregnant?
Yes, a high beta-hCG level can occur even if a woman is not pregnant. This can happen in cases of certain medical conditions, such as trophoblastic disease, certain cancers, or hormonal imbalances. Additionally, a recent miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy may also result in elevated beta-hCG levels despite the absence of a viable pregnancy. Therefore, further medical evaluation is often necessary to determine the cause of elevated levels.
What is the beta hcg level in non pregnant women?
A normal woman may carry trace amounts of HCG in her system. I, for example, carry about .1 units. This is not near enough to consider pregnant. Some women can carry up to 5 units in her system and not be pregnant. After 5 units, though, they will monitor to see if your levels rise, because it is usually indicitive of pregnancy.
Research on the effects of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) on hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) levels is limited and inconclusive. Some studies suggest that THC may influence hormone levels, but the exact relationship with hCG specifically hasn't been well established. While there is anecdotal evidence regarding THC's impact on reproductive hormones, more comprehensive research is needed to draw definitive conclusions. Always consult a healthcare professional for personalized advice on hormonal health.
It's secreted by the chorion of the fetus and targets the corpus luteum which, under the influence of hCG, persists longer than the ~2 weeks it normally lasts.
The effect of hCG on the corpus luteum is prolongation of this temporary emndocrine gland's secretory phase, which guarantees that progesterone, the hormone of pregnancy, lasts until the placenta (a tissue made by the embryo and derived from the chorion) is sufficiently developed to take over the job of secreting progesterone.
Without progesterone, the uterus is unable to sustain a pregnancy. Thus, hCG facilitates the vital relay between the corpus luteum and the placenta in their joint (but temporally separated) function of progesterone secretion.
What is a hcg level 12 days after ovulation for twins?
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels can vary widely in early pregnancy, including for twins. Generally, hCG levels 12 days after ovulation can range from about 30 to 300 mIU/mL, but this can differ based on individual circumstances. In twin pregnancies, hCG levels may be higher, often exceeding the typical range for a singleton pregnancy. However, it's important to note that hCG levels alone are not definitive for determining the number of embryos; ultrasound is the most reliable method for confirming twin pregnancies.

What is the dilation stage where it is okay to have the epidural?
Women do not have to wait until they are dilated to a certain level before they can ask for, or receive, an epidural. According to the ASA's current guidelines, "patients in early labor should be offered the option of receiving neuraxial analgesia (spinal or epidural) when the service is available, and it should not be withheld to meet arbitrary standards for cervical dilation." If a woman is in active, established labor, and is uncomfortable, epidural analgesia is the most effective method of pain relief. There is no medical reason to wait for a specific dilation target.

Can pregnancy detected if you have 4 days missed period?
Usually four days late is enough time to get a positive test. If the test is negative and your period doesn't start, retest in one week.
depends on how far along you are.... you are supposed to rise usually up until around 12-14 wks so I have read (although everyone is different) then drop some and level out for the rest of the pregnancy. Otherwise - the other option is possible miscarriage... but depends on how far along, symptoms etc.
Yes! I've done it before... I lost about 50 pounds... I did two cycles of it though. It's really hard! You have to be extremely motivated to do it! Before you do it, make sure you get the book!

The hCG levels should not be used to date a pregnancy since these numbers can vary so widely.
hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* : * 3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml * 4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml * 5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml * 6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml * 7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml * 9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml * 13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml * 17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml * 25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml * Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml * Postmenopausal females: <9.5 mIU/ml * These numbers are just a GUIDELINE-- every woman's level of hCG can rise differently. It is not necessarily the level that matters but rather the change in the level.

Is it possible to have a low HCG blood level at 16 and still be pregnant?
Yes. Mine was 17 at 13 days past ovulation and then I had it tested again and it had risen to 35. It's not the initial number that matters as much as the doubling every 48-72 hours
Is it bad that at 5 weeks pregnant your HCG level is 650 and your Progesterone level is 6?
Your progesterone needs to be over 20. I would ask IMMEDIATELY for progesterone cream, shots, or oral. If you are in the early stages of five weeks your hcg beta is perfect.
Is there a way to find out how far along you are based on your hcg level?
hCG levels are not an accurate dating tool as they change very rapidly and vary from woman to woman. An ultasound will provide better infromation as to how far along you are.
