If I were you, I would make an appointment with a doctor. They have better tests to give you to test for pregnancy. And if it just you missing your period for some reason, they can determine that too.
How long does it take to find out if you are pregnant?
A pregnancy test will give an accurate result 3 weeks after sex.
Could you be still pregnant if your home test comes out negative and you get your period?
Yes, you could still be pregnant. Home tests are only 50% accurate in telling you whether you are or not when it comes out negative, but if it comes out positive then it is 99.9%, because there is a hormone your body produces only if you are pregnant called hCG but it can be very low at first in some women and a home test usually only picks up on it when it reaches 20+.
I would concentrate more on the period. Was it a normal period? If it was an abnormally short or light period, chances you're pregnant increase. If it was a normal period, than that combined with the negative results on a pregnancy test probably mean you're not pregnant, but if you're having symptoms, you should still be careful and healthy, because its rare but not unheard of to have your period while you're pregnant and get negative pregnancy tests while you're pregnant.
How many pregnancy tests should you take?
Home pregnancy tests are only 50% reliable if you are not pregnant, but almost 100% reliable if you are pregnant. In other words, they are not very reliable. (They are much more likely to tell you that you are pregnant if you are not than to tell you are not pregnant if you are.)
It is better to see a doctor to have a blood test and ease your stress.
actually, home pregnancy tests can be quite accurate if taken after your missed period. the above information is slightly off in terms of false results. actually, tests are more likely to tell you you're NOT pregnant when you ARE (false-negatives), rather than you ARE pregnant when you're not (false-positives). false-positive results are very rare, while false-negatives are more common (and usually caused by testing too early or with diluted urine). if you follow the instructions provided with the test kits, they ARE pretty reliable. though, i agree with the above answerer that doctor's results are always the MOST accurate. Can you take a home pregnancy test before you miss your period?
Yes, you can. I took a pregnancy test 4 days before my expected period, (in the middle of the day) its positive, took another test one hour later, its positive again. And I took another one the next day, it turns out positive as well(Its kind of fun to take the test once its positive )
Yes, you can. There are a few tests on the market that allow you to take the test four days before your missed period. I believe that there are also one or two that you can take even earlier. They are stronger when detecting your hormone count. The one that I know you can use four days before your period is due is " " - I used it and it worked fine (I am not two months pregnant). But as with all tests, they are not guaranteed, so if you take one I would suggest taking another one when your period is due. " " comes in a two pack (more for your money!). Good luck!
I took a e.p.t before I missed my period too and it came out negative and I know for sure I have to be pregnant because my partner told me he is sure. But I would like for a pregnancy test that can tell from the day of conception because I am a teen and i really need to know.
The answer to this question is actually "yes," and that's with a normal pregnancy test. Tests generally claim that they become accurate from the first day of the woman's missed period. This information is accurate, because the woman generally starts her period about two weeks after ovulation.
It is the length of time that the woman is pregnant that determines if the test comes back positive or not. This is important for those with highly irregular menstrual cycles, or for those who engaged in unprotected sexual intercourse during the woman's period (since it would kind of suck to have to wait an entire month to test).
It is recommended to take a home pregnancy test about 14 days after sexual intercourse. If you are still concerned, it is a good idea to retest a few days later. .
My husband and I were trying to have a baby and I took a pregnancy test 5 days before my period was due and I was pregnant.
Can you take a pregnancy test after just one week?
How accurate is the EPT test if done after missed period?
They are pretty accurate, but she should wait a few days to a week and take another one. If she still hasn't had a regular period, she should go to a doctor. Stress can cause irregular periods. Good luck!
Hey there. I missed my period for a whole month and was 2 weeks late after that. I took the EPT test and 1 out of 2 came back positive. I went for a blood test today. From what I know the tests are accurate. The only way you will get a false reading is if you wait to long to read the test or if an evaporation line shows up. (an evaporation line is a faint colorless line that shows up if the test has been sitting to long. It some times can be read as a positive. so the only 100% sure way to know is wait a while then get a blood test.
Hope it helped.
What happens if theres pink on the pregnancy test but it is not a straight line?
I don't know what test you took or what a pink line means so I can't answer that question. But if you still haven't had a regular period, you should talk to your doctor. They will give you a pregnancy test and try and find out why you haven't had a regular period. you.
Can a pregnancy test come back negative if taken too soon?
Yes, because there may not be enough of the pregnancy hormone present in your body and urine as of yet.
For some women even a week after a missed period can even be to early to detect pregnancy hormones. Also hpt doesnt always work. sometimes you have to take blood test to determine if you are pregnant. Take the test and it is negative try again in another week.
YES!
What do two blue lines on a HPT mean?
It depends on what kind of HPT you used. They are not all the same. Read the instructions. EPT test
A very faint line usually means you are pregnant, any faint line over the positive means you are, it just may well be that your hormone levels are low due to being too early in the pregnancy therefore the test is only just picking it up giving you a slight positive . Some have had a positive test early then found out later they are not pregnant a reason for this is because the levels have dropped to normal which is usually because those ''unfortunate woman have miscarried . Try retesting in another few days or weeks. The test clearly says not to test until the first day your period is due, because you ovulate 2weeks before (which is when ''most'' woman become pregnant.) Also that is why they count 40 weeks from your last period, to allow for the 2weeks ovulation. Every woman is different, some have higher HCG levels than others which explains why some are able to get a quicker result before others. Everyone has a different opinion, so when you ask you must openminded to different answers, if you are unsure of your result and you are overdue for your period then I suggest you see a midwife or doctor.
Do you have to wait until you miss a period before taking a pregnancy test?
For most tests, yes. But there are a few that can be taken a few days before you are supposed to start.
When are you supposed to take a pregnancy test?
If you mean what time of day, it doesn't matter. But it is said that you will have the highest level of the pregnancy hormone with your first pee of the day. If you mean what time of the month, then it is after you have missed your period. Some tests can be taken a few days before your period is supposed to start.
I've never used an HPT test, but the second line is usually the control. The first line is there if you are pregnant, not there if you aren't. But if there is only one line, you are probably not pregnant. If it is hard to read, take another test in a few days. Be sure to save the box or the paper inside so you can better understand your results. If the results are still not clear, call your doctor or planned parenthood for more advice and help. Planned parenthood should be in your phone book.
What is the earliest time a pregnancy be detected and when can a blood test detect the pregnancy?
If a woman has cycles that are NOT 28 days, then this information will not be accurate. Generally speaking, a positive on a home pregnancy test can appear up to five days before you MISS your period, so that would be FOUR days before your period is due - again, this assuming you have a 14 day luteal phase (the time between ovulation and menstuation). What does this mean? It is possible that some tests will pick up a positive at 10 days post-ovulation. It is uncommon, but some women have gotten a positive result a day or two earlier than this. Most women will NOT experience a positive result until after they have missed their period. A doctor's urine test is no more accurate than an over-the-counter pregnancy test, but a blood beta would be able to detect pregnancy a day or two sooner than a urine test.
Do you have any symptoms of pregnancy other than missed periods? I would recommend getting a blood test from your doctor to ensure accuracy.
Yes, it is possible if you use 2 different types of test. One test may not be as strong in detecting the pregnancy hormone as the other. I suggest if you did get a positive result go see your doctor.
What would cause a blood pregnancy test to be inconclusive?
When a blood test comes out inconclusive it means that they think you are pregnant but you could be miscarrying. When I was pregnant with my son, the test came out inconclusive so my doctor said I had to retest in a few days to make sure the hcg levels went up and not down. They went up and my son is now 3 years old. Unless you are having bad cramping and bleeding I would assume you are pregnant.

Hi
Yes you can perform a pregnancy test during your period but as you are on your period, you are not pregnant.
How long do you need to wait until you can take a pregnancy test?
Ideally you should wait until your period is late, that would make the test the most accurate. Most tests say even the day your period is due is fine. Some tests on the market say you can test up to 4 days before your period is due, it will catch some pregnancies, however you are most likely to get a false negative by testing early.
Either you are pregnant & you got a false neg. or you can be having ovulation pains they are almost exactly the same as pregnancy symptoms.
How long does it take to see if you are pregnant or not?
A home or urine test at a clinic takes 5 minutes or less. A blood test takes a few hours to come back.
you can do a home test or clinic urine test once your period is late for the best accuracy
a blood test can be done a few days before that with accuracy.

Does what you eat just before taking a home pregnancy test have any affect on the results?
No kind of food can affect HPT's, but if you are testing early & drink a lot of water before the test, it could come out a false neg. The water dilutes your urine.
How long after a light short period should you test for pregnancy?
you can test during the period, or anytime afterward if you are concerned that you were pregnant during the light period.
