Do you quilt each square as you go?
Yes, it's very common to quilt as you go. That method is best when you don't have room for a large quilting frame, or can't handle the entire quilt.
I just make little 10 inch x 10 inch quilt sandwiches (top can be pieced or not), batting, and backing. Then I put the block on a small plastic frame I have and stitch the quilting pattern I have chosen.
There are several different ways to join the blocks. I prefer to sew a border on each block, and stuff it as I sew them together. The link I have provided shows a method that requires butting the blocks together, and seems more complicated to me.

Why is poly cotton suitable for quilting?
Many modern quilters think that poly cotton fabrics are suitable for quilting because they do not shrink as 100% cotton does, it launders very well, does not wrinkle, and is easy to work with. Many other quilters think that poly cotton fabrics are UNsuitable because they do not accept stitching in the same way as 100% cotton fabrics: thread tends to lie on the surface of poly cotton instead of sinking into a soft ditch. Some quilters do not like poly cotton's too-smooth texture, preferring the softly crinkled affect produced when 100% cotton is slightly shrunken.
Binding
The curves of the scalloped edge require the use of a narrow, single bias binding. From the remaining blue solid fabric cut 1 1/4" strips on the diagonal. Join the strips with diagonal seams pressed open. (Wrights Wide Single Fold Bias Binding is great for binding scalloped edges.)
To sew the binding onto the quilt, cut the beginning edge at an angle, and press under 1/4". Begin at the top of one of the scallops and matching the raw edge of the binding with the marked line on the quilt, sew a 1/4" seam. The bias binding will easily follow the curve of the scallop. Stop with the needle down at the bottom of the "V", lift the presser foot, and pivot the quilt so the binding is lined up with the mark. Put the presser foot back down. The fabric will be pulled tightly around the V, so be careful not to sew in any tucks or pleats. Continue stitching in this manner around the quilt, ending with a small diagonal overlap.
After checking to see the binding is sewn on correctly, trim the edge of the quilt even with the edge of the binding. Turn the binding under 1/4", turn to the backside and stitch down by hand. There is no need to clip at the "V"s, the binding should just fold over itself like a reverse miter corner.
Don't forget to sign and date your quilt!
Enjoy!

180
ACK !
120 divided by 4.5 ( allowing for quarter inch seams ) = 26 blocks wide.
124 divided by 4.5 ( allowing for quarter inch seams ) -= 27 blocks deep.
( These are rounded numbers, since 27 blocks wide, is actually 26.66666
and 27.5555 blocks. ) For a total of 702 blocks.
If you prefer, make 24 blocks wide and 26 blocks deep, and make up the difference in finished size with your border. 624 blocks.
How does a sewing machine that works with fashion disks do a straight stitch?
My Singer 3343c works with disks. The disks need to have the stitch width (zig zag width as it were) changed from zero to some width. When the stitch width is 0 all the disks are a straight stitch.
Why would my feed dogs quit raising up on my pfaff creative 2?
First thought that comes to mind is that there is a lot of lint between the feed dogs and the needle plate. Most needle plates have screws that hold it in place, remove the plate and clean out that area. If this doesn't seem to be the problem something may be disconnected and needs professional service.
Some people call quilts, blankets. But a quilt means that there is a top and a back with batting in between the 2 layers. They are quilted ( sewn ) together, or tied together, holding the batting in place.
A blanket is usually one layer of fabric.
The origins of quilting are unknown as quilting has been around for thousands of years. The earliest known quilt is a depiction of a quilted garment on an ancient Egyptian ivory carving of a Pharaoh, dated around 3400 B.C.
Where do you find a large spool holder and bobbins for a EuroPro 9106?
Sorry, I have no idea where you are, to suggest any place for you. But there are times when I need to hold a large 'cone' of thread at my sewing machine. Put the cone of thread in a large container, and running the thread through the 'eye' of a safety pin ( that you would tape to the sewing machine ) and run the thread past the stem where a spool of thread would normally sit, then thread the machine as usual. It works very well.
I hope this is helpful for you.

What is the salvage edge of cut fabric?
It's actually the selvage edge. It is the woven edge that does not ravel (have loose threads that you can pull off). On fabric that is freshly cut from a bolt, it is the 2 edges opposite the folded edge. Often, it is a different color from the rest of the fabric, and may be printed with the fabric company name, and little round dots of the different colors used in printing the fabric.
Because this does not stretch or "give" like cut fabric, the selvage edges should be removed before cutting out quilt pieces. Usually 1/4" to 1/2" is enough.
Is viscose thread a good choice for quilting?
There are many different opinions on which thread is ideal for quilting. A good rule of thumb is to choose a thread made of the same material as the fabric you are using. For example: I would choose cotton thread if I am using cotton fabric, but if I am using a synthetic fabric (like polyester) I would choose a synthetic thread-- like viscose rayon or polyester.
It is best to use the same materials for your fabric and thread so that when washed and dried, everything shrinks evenly.
Growing up in a family with lots of cousins and lots of sleep-overs, quilt pallets were something we used many times... very simply, old quilts would be piled on a floor, usually in the living room, and that's where we would sleep. Or usually, it's where we giggled and told stories and pretended to be already sleeping whenever an adult would tell us to get quiet and go to sleep, right now.
Once when my own son had several boys sleeping over, we did this. One kid, from a rather wealthy family, had forgotten to pack his pj's, so I simply lent him one of my husband's white T-shirts. All the other boys wanted one also. That started a tradition of our sleepovers always being on the LR floor with everyone wearing a white T-shirt. It actually became a fad for a couple of years.
