In a trip to America John Flanagan announced his long awaited plan for Book #12 of the rangers series. He said that he always wanted to end the sieries with Will having a female apprentice. He said he will write more books on brotherband, and in book 11 he mentioned Halt and Crowleys first meeting. Apparently he said it was a test and he liked it. He announced that he will write a series on that.

The series doesn't take place in a real-world setting; places such as Araluen and Skandia never existed, though some settings are similar to that of ancient civilizations. For example, Skandian civilization brings to mind Scandinavia, and Nihon-Ja seems reminiscent of East Asian culture. There is other evidence that John Flanagan based his world on ours, such as the similarities between their map and ours.

They are a "warm brown" color, as commented on in the books from time to time.

That's a good one. I think The Pendragon books have a really good plot. But the Ranger Books are really good too! But they need to be longer!

It depends on who you ask. I would say Ranger's Apprentice, 'cause the main character aren't supposed to save the world as, he is in Pendragon. I think it makes it a bit childish that one boy has to save the whole world..

The release date has not yet been announced. Last I heard they were having a problem with money but the director Paul Haggis is still going to make it when it gets enough money. From what I read it's probably gonna come out in 2011 or 2012

I've read up to the seventh book in the Ranger's Apprentice series, and he hasn't died yet.

I've read through book eight and he isn't gone. I also know for a fact that Malcolm cures him in book nine and he doesn't die even though John make it seem like he will.

For each book over 1 million copies have been sold.

When will the movie come out, I know this isnt entirely related to the question but im dying to know.
