Reincarnation

Reincarnation is the belief that a soul will keep being reborn into new bodies. Depending on the belief, the soul can come back as a plant, animal, or another person. Beliefs on reincarnation are different all over the world. Some religions or cultures do not believe in reincarnation at all, but for others it is a very strong part of their society.

The cycle of reincarnation means that if you are good and follow your dharma, you will have a good next life.

But the real goal is to be spiritually successful enough as to achieve moksha, and escape reincarnation and join God.

Aupmanyav: The real goal is that people do good deeds and keep away from evil deeds, so that the society prospers. Gods and Goddesses are optional and so is reincarnation and moksha, good if you believe, also good if you do not believe.

Was audie Murphy reincarnated?

I was born on June 20, 1989. I just learned a few months ago that surrounding some strange coincidences, I may in fact have been Audie in a past life. I'm currently talking with an expert on the subject of reincarnation and hypnosis via E-Mail. He has asked me to write a biography (assuming brief but to the point) about myself as well as other information including pictures. All this being from my current life as I have not yet recalled any memories of being Audie at this time, at least not concrete said for a few reoccurring plane crash dreams. This is all speculation on my part but, hey I'll keep you posted if you are interested. By the way I was born in Vancouver BC, Canada.

Was reincarnation taught by the early Christians?

As far as I know, The true early christians never taught Reincarnation. As you probably well know, Christianity came from Judaism. Judaism never taught reincarnation. Reincarnation is primaraly a Pagan, that is either a religion that is not an abrahamic religion (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) or a religion that worships many gods, concept. Misguided early christians, may have incorporated reincarnation into their aldulturated form of Christianity. However, they were clearly not influential enough to influence mainstream Christianity. either that, or they saw the truth, in my opinion.

Where in the Bible does it mention reincarnation?

There is a life after death, and it doesn't say that there isn't in the bible. If you look at the bible dictionary or the topical guide and look up death, you can find some places to go where it says that.

1John 5:11 The testimony is this: God has given us eternal life, and this life has its source in his Son.

1John 5:12 Whoever has the Son has this life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

1John 5:13 I am writing this to you so that you may know that you have eternal life---you that believe in the Son of God.

Verses in the Bible that support reincarnation?

To my knowledge (and it's quite extensive having studied the Bible for 40 years or so) there aren't any. The reason for this is that reincarnation is not the belief of either the Jewish faith of the Old Testament, nor the Christian faith of the New Testament. Christians believe in an eternal afterlife with God made posble by Christ's death on the Cross. Eternal does not mean going on and on, but means existing outside time - as does God. Because of sin the relationship between God and us was broken, but by Christ's sacrifice, he paid the price for that sin dying in our place on the Cross, thus paying the price that we should have paid. As a result, he made possible for those who trust in him an eternal existence, full of joy and happiness, with God in heaven. A far cry from 'coming back' as a rabbit or something.

How do Hindu beliefs in reincarnation help explain the caste system?

reincarnation is associated with the caste system because from your previous life it could lead you into the caste you are today and who you are.

Answ2. Reincarnation is a common concept, practiced beyond the nations and religions that sponsor a caste system.

To a self-aware entity such as man, the concept of non-being is unpleasant. ergo - there must be something (anything?) better. hence an afterlife.

If Catholics believe in reincarnation does it mean that they don't believe in God or they'll go to hell for it?

== == == == == == == == Christian theology and philosophy both reject the possibility of reincarnation. Many Catholic philosophers support hylemorphism which dictates all things are made up of matter and form. A human being is not a soul and is not a body; it is a soul and body. Therefore, a soul cannot be infused into a different body, this would be an act of violence, a metaphysical mutation which is frankly impossible. Each specific soul is attached to a specific body in order to make a specific human being. At death the body and soul separate which is an act of violence. This separation is unnatural and is one of the consequences and pains of sin. Even people speak metaphysically without knowing it for they say, "his soul is in heaven" or "we buried his body" it is no longer a human being, or "him" they reference but his parts in violence. This is why on the last day all souls are reunited to their proper bodies, for the body shares in the delights of its soul, or its pains, either glorified in heaven or tortured in hell. In this case, eschatological theology reinforces the theory set forth by hylemorphism.

Some people who think of themselves as being of the Catholic religion may personally believe in reincarnation, but the Catholic Church itself does not teach it. The concept of reincarnation is incompatible with Christianity. Luke 16:v20-31 20. And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21. And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23. And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: 28. For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
