Robots are good for work that has a lot of repetition, especially on tasks that require a lot of precision and that need to be done exactly the same every time. They are also beneficial when work requires much heavy lifting.

Engineers make robots because it is their job. Along with engineers, Hackers make robots (not the computer hackers but the hackers who modify things). Overall anyone can build a robot, it is the engineers and hackers build them for a living.

China and Japan are the places where you find most of the robots being used, but in most automobilie factories there are robots in use. So they're not only in China and Japan. The more humanoid robots are primarily in China and Japan. Also there is robotics comititions where students build robots and battle them in multiple countries.

That will never happen because it was 1912 if robots try to destroy the world.Also the technology back then would actually make it impossible to make robots.

A robot's cost is determined by functionality. As you put in place more sensors, actuators and additional power, the price increases.

No it is not necessary that all robots have arms and legs. Some robots have only arms and some have legs and some have wheels for their mobility.

Basically it depends on the requirements as the requirements dictate how we design our robots.

For example in automobile industries robots are used only for welding purposes or in paintshop. These types of robots have only arms not legs.

A robot is a machine and like any machine it needs to have input/programming. It can not think beyond what it is meant to do and Robots can do anything you set them to do. Like in factories all they have to do with making their product is make the robot.
