Can you play super robot wars without knowing Japanese?

There is nothing more fun than button mashing through the cutscenes and then blowing everything up without really knowing what you are doing! xD

But if you want to play them in English, exactly two games were translated and released in America. Both of them are on the Gameboy Advance, named "Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation" and "Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation 2". They might be at a Gamestop somewhere, or on eBay. Emulators would be the best way to get those, if you aren't morally opposed to it or anything.

There are probably fan translations for other games on the internet, but you would need to have the proper emulator and ROM files for whichever game you would like to play specifically. A lot of them are on PS2, if your computer has the specs to run that, you might want to give those a shot and look for files for a translation. I'm fairly sure that I've seen internet communities around that translate games.

I own both OG1 and OG2, so I know those for a fact. The rest of this is kind of speculative. There are a whole lot of Japanese SRW games, so I'm not too clear. Good luck on finding what you want though.

What are the three main components of a robot?

The controller is a box with all the electrical parts necessary to direct the robot's movements. The robotic arm requires the other two components to function.

How much money do robotic engineers make?

In general, engineers along with just about any other profession, make either what they deserve or what they can negotiate.

It's all about perception. If an employer perceives that an employee or candidate can provide greater value, the employee MAY be entitled to more money. If an engineering degree is all the employer is looking for, he/she may be willing to pay more for that piece of paper. On the other hand, if an employer needs an engineer to produce, the employee will more likely be paid based on his/her value to the company.

Are Vocaloids robots?

They are computer created software based on voice banks of real people.

So, technically yes, they are robots.

Extending the answer:

The closest "Vocaloid robot" known to exist is a prototype called HRP-4C that could use any Vocaloid voice library. HRP-4C itself is a female humanoid robot developed by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, a Japanese research facility. Her first demo to the public was in 2009. She is known to have used at least 3 Vocaloids in demos. One was a prototype called CV-4Cβ (CV-4C beta) made by Crypton Future Media, the same studio that created Miku Hatsune. CV-4Cβ used a variant of Vocaloid optimized for speech, instead of singing, called Vocaloid-flex. HRP-4C has sung using Miku Hatsune and GUMI voice libraries.
