rock and roll affected the economy by brining the money from the young hoolagens who spent it on rock concerts into circulation instead of saving their money for thing such as cars and houses. this brought in the second depression.

Elvis, the king of rock and roll, was amongst the first stars of modern music in the 1950s. He was perhaps the first superstar of the new age of entertaiment. Elvis Presley had a unique singing voice, and was capable of entertaining (sublimely!) with that alone. The last I read on the Internet, Mike Kelly lives in Long Island, N.Y. But I haven't been able to find any recent news about him. There are a number of great photographs of him on the official Duprees web page-but they are from the his younger days when he was with the group. Such an amazing voice-with looks to match-and so much soul within. I am a real fan and would appreciate any news.

Update April 28 2010

Michael has formed a new group but is not yet able to use the name Duprees. He has appeared in and around places in North Jersey and will be at the Brown Stone in Paterson on 4/30. The sound and voice is terrific for the whole group, but he never mentions the Duprees and has nothing negative to say about them. He still looks great. Mike L , Jersey Shore, NJ

No, not all metal music is violent. Yes, some can be, but there is also metal music that isn't violent at all. Just as you can find variations of almost everything, there's also variations of metal.. You can even find Christian metal with Christian lyrics that has no violent within..

So, while there IS metal music with violence and/or suicidal lyrics etc; there is also some that has none of that. This is a common misconception although, due to certain popular metal bands...

So no worries! :)
