Colleges take the highest reading score, the highest math score and the highest writing score out of all the tests you've taken. So if there was a really bad essay topic, you can take it again and they will take the higher of the scores.
The SAT exam is generally given seven times per year, once each in October, November, December, January, March, May, and June. Scores are delivered via the web about 3 weeks later and by mail about a week after that. The test is given in many locations that are determined by high schools. To find out the nearest location and test date near you, contact your high school advisor.
You must take either the SAT or the ACT to get into St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas.
It is to practice and study. It is difficult to feel confident and prepared if you do not do those two things.
Each of the three parts of the SAT (math, critical reading, and writing) is worth 800 points. Therefore, if you make a really bad score on the math part, it will dramatically affect your overall SAT score. For example 700 on the critical reading and 700 on the writing parts of the SAT would be considered a "good" score by most students. and 550 on the math part would be considered by "bad" score by most students (although of course "good" and "bad" in this context are relative terms, highly dependent on the student's background, access to good schools, and target colleges). This would add up to a respectable 1950 on the SAT, which some students would consider "good" but which, standing alone, would not be impressive to most Top 50 national universities. The good news is that the SAT math score is the easiest part of the SAT to bring up if a student is willing to work hard to improve the score. The math tested on the SAT is not that complicated. If you start working hard now to improve your score, you could bring it up by a 100 points by next October, which is one of the months when the SAT is given.
I do not know the median But Milton Academy Has The Third Highest Average SAT Score Nationwide The Rank Is Philips Exeter 2080 St.Paul's 2075 MIlton Academy 2060 .......(some schools) Philips Andover 2020 As a current student of MIlton Academy, i would say that Milton Academy is one of the best New England Prep schools, definitely top five. The main reason is because Milton is a place for the students to "Dare to be true", a place for us to be ourselves and cultivate our own interests. Student of MIlton Academy
The test is approximately 3 and half hours. There is now a 1/2 hour essay.

Use "an" before a vowel sound and "a" before a constanant. If you are pronouncing SAT as the word sat, then you would say "a sat test" but if you are pronouncing each letter separately, then it is "an ess ay tee test".
Yes, U.S. News always prints an annual college ranking that has SAT ranges. These ranges vary by college, but are merely guidelines based on median scores. Check with the individual admissions office to determine whether you might need to re-take the SAT or ACT.
The score ranges from 350-850 That is true for "FICO" credit score, however, in 2006, Equifax, Experian and Trans Union set up a rival credit scoring system, VantageScore, in competition with Fair Isaac's FICO. Vantage Score uses a scale that ranges up to 1,000, with 900-1,000 representing an "A" credit, 800-900 a "B" and so on. So, technically, there are credit scores of 900 and above (like mine!)... -Markos411
Skipping questions on the SAT is advisable if you don't know the answer to a question and are unable to eliminate any of the answer choices. If you can rule out even one or two incorrect answers, you should always answer that question even if you have to make a blind guess, since probability states that you'll gain more points by guessing in this fashion than you'll lose by answering some of the questions incorrectly. You can check the FAQ section at www.learnglc.com for a detailed answer from experts.
