Remington Rand 1911 value

The value of ANY firearm is based on exact make and model, and condition. If you have a military issue 1911A1 pistol made by Remington Rand, the values can be quite high- but again, based on condition of the gun, matching magazine, etc. An original in excellent condition could have a value measured in thousands of dollars- one that has been chrome plated at the local bumper shop is worth about $200. You will REALLY need a hands-on appraisal from someone that knows collectible 1911s.

A check of completed auctions for Remington Rand 45 pistols shows sales ranging from about $950-$100 for pistols in "Good" condition, up to $2,400 for a pistol is 98% new condition ("Excellent" grading) One in "Fair" condition may sell for $650-$750.

Sears Ranger O/U shotguns were made by Marlin. When introduced in 1937 and prior to WWII Sears used the Ranger name and JC HIggins after the war. They were sold by Marlin as the Model 90. The 103 was used by Sears to designate guns made by Marlin with the number after a period or dash indicating the particular model.

To my understanding, there was a recall that was uncalled for. Some "person" commented on the bolt of the shotgun would easily come out, and I guess for contingent and liability reasons, there was a recall in which Sears would give you back approximately 150 dollars for the bolt only. I personally, have one just like yours but it's missing the safely latch and it has a big crack on the stock. I am willing to sell or trade. It works and all but it is difficult to find parts (like the stock and the safety latch).

The collector value can only be assessed by a visual inspection & evaluation. Old Winchesters are very much like old classic automobiles... the graded condition and factory originality are the key factors in determining what they are truly worth. Bert H.
