The Seahawks won their division because of a tie-breaker. They were tied with a record of 7-9 with the Rams. Who played for Seattle Seahawks?

Going into the 2013 NFL season, Russell Wilson will be the starting quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks.

Wilson was a 3rd Round Draft pick by the Seahawks in 2012 out of Wisconsin, and while he put together one of the most efficient seasons in college football history his senior year with the Badgers, he was widely viewed to be too short to play quarterback in the NFL (5'10 3/8").

Because of this, Wilson fell into the third round, where Seattle was excited to select him. Wilson wowed the team during the offseason rookie mini-camp as he ran much of the offense, learned the play-book, showed leadership in the huddle, and displayed accuracy throwing the football. Head coach Pete Carroll announced then that Wilson would be part of a three-way quarterback competition for starter, along with newly-signed free agent Matt Flynn and incumbent starter Tarvaris Jackson.

Wilson played well in Seattle's first two preseason games as a backup to Flynn, and Carroll subsequently announced the rookie would start the final two preseason games. Shortly after the Seahawks' third preseason game, in which he impressed by completing 13 of 19 passes for two touchdowns and 185 yards through the air, Wilson was named the Seahawks' starter for the regular season.

Wilson started the 2012 season slowly and the Seahawks limited what they asked him to do, passing-wise. However, as he acclimated to the speed of the NFL game, his play improved gradually, and by mid-season, he had taken control of the offense. Wilson finished the season on a tear while leading the Hawks to an 11-5 record and a playoffs berth. He finished the regular season with 3,118 yards passing and he tied Payton Manning's long-standing record for touchdown passes as a rookie with 26.

Wilson then led the Seahawks to a come-from-behind win over the Redskins in the Wildcard Round of the Playoffs, and then in the following week, helped to engineer an improbable 2nd-half comeback against the No. 1 seed Atlanta Falcons. The Seahawks took the lead with under a minute remaining, but the Falcons rallied to kick a field goal with only seconds left in the game, preserving the victory.

Wilson enters year two with big expectations and with the Seahawks on a short list as Super Bowl favorites.
