Incheon and Seoul are in the same metropolitan area. It takes about an hour to get from downtown Seoul to Incheon airport though.

I've been to Korea, and I don't suggest going in the summer, because it tends to be humid. The winters are a lot more mild in Korea than in the Northern U.S.

Fall is good, but Spring is better, in my opinion, because the mountain streams and ponds are a lot more beautiful. and the tourist castle gardens are good too.

I don't know what the term would be in Hangul, but the US soldiers stationed in Korea typically referred to them as "ROKs" (Republic of Korea). If denoting individual branches, it would be "ROK Army", "ROK Marines", "ROK Air Force", etc., just as we'd refer to them as "ROK soldier", "ROK officer", etc. In addressing the rank of ROK military personnel, we'd more often refer to them by the US equivalent to their rank, rather than the Hangul name for their rank.

There's also the instance of KATUSA soldiers - Korean Augmentees To the United States Army - ROK Army personnel assigned to US units to act as interpreters and such.

There is no such cheapest time of the year. You just has to book well in advance for your flights and you get a best deal. Say almost one or two months in advance and try to fly on Saturday you will get chap air deals.

I had a bad impression.. at least a total of 5 hours of turbulence

when I was station in Korea for a little over a year, we flew from atlanta to Alaska wich I dont rememeber clearly but think it was in anchorage, but it is the airport that has the stuffed polar bear, from there we flew over Japan overlooking mount fuji and landed in seoul.

Flying Delta you first stop in Atlanta, GA. Philly to Atlanta is 2 to 2.5 hrs, depending on the speed & size of the plane. Atlanta to Inchon non-stop is 15 hours, for a total of 17.5 hours flying time. Include the layover in Atlanta, arriving at the airport 3 hours ahead, inevitable delays, and it's closer to 20 hours. Seoul has its own airport (Gimpo) but it now uses the one in Incheon as a main hub.

No city in the world grew faster than New York City in the 19th century. In the 20th century most of the growth in New York City had flattened out. Seoul, Korea and large US cities cannot be fairly compared unless a question is more focused.
