The twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York collapsed due to damage from shock and fire caused by impact by terrorist-hijacked airplanes on September 11, 2001.

there were 4 planes involved in the crash one into each of the World Trade Centers(twin towers), 1 crashed in the Pentagon building and the last one was supposed to hit the White House but crashed in a field next to it

I love speculations! well, very very probably- the economy might be in better shape ( banks were destroyed in 9.ll) a global travel slump that the Twin Towers Terrorism precipitated may not have happened, who knows. One odd angle of attack- is Bin Laden aside- there were no major Domestic or similar Political assasinations in the US in the period commencing with 9-ll. stop and think about that!

Planes were directed to land at nearby airports all over North America. When 911 happened the planes crossing to the US from Europe were forced to land in Newfoundland. The schools closed down and the people in Newfoundland were giving them food, beds, clothing, toothbrushes and what ever they needed.

The aircraft that crashed into the World Trade Center towers did so not because of an accident, but a deliberate act. The men that hijacked the aircraft wanted to kill as many people as they could, and do as much damage to the US as they could. A simple answer- they believed people in the US are evil.

Only 14 people escaped from the impact zone of the South Tower after it was hit and only four people from the floors above it. Individuals escaped from as high up on the South Tower as the 91st floor after initial impact. They escaped via Stairwell A, the only stairwell which had been left intact after the impact. It is speculated that Stairwell A in the South Tower was not only intact after the impact of United Airlines Flight 175, but that it was also passable until the South Tower collapsed at 9:59 AM. Since communication between 911 operators, FDNY and NYPD responders was disorganized, most individuals who were trapped were unaware of the passable status of Stairwell A and were instead told to wait for assistance by rescue personnel.[11] After the collapse of the towers, only 23 survivors who were in or below the towers escaped from the debris, including 15 rescue workers. The last survivor to be removed alive from the WTC collapse debris was Genelle Guzman-McMillan, who was removed at 12:30 PM on September 12th, 27 hours after its initial collapse. The September 11 attacks weren't exactly a bombing. Instead Commercial airliners were hijacked and flown into buildings. The attacks were planned and carried out by al-Qaeda, a group of militant Islamic extremists. It is a multinational organization with no formal or official affiliations with any country or government.

The hijackers were heading towards Washington, DC and it is believed that they were either targeting the White House or the Capitol.

The attack on the twin towers occurred in New York City. The Pentagon attack was in Arlington, Virginia. And Flight 93 crashed near the small town of Shanksville, Pennsylvania after the passengers fought to regain control of the airplane.

I am guessing that you are asking about American Airlines flight 11 that crashed on 9-11. that is the flight that hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

American Airlines Flight 77, which hit the Pentagon, was the third plane to crash that day. The crashes into both of the twin towers happened first, and then the one that crashed in Pennsylvania was the last one.
