September 11 Attacks

On September the 11 2001 the United States of America had a difficult situation.

On September 11, 2001 at 8:46 a.m. American Airlines Flight 11 was flown into the north tower of the World Trade Center. At first, many believed the event to be an accident. The news of the crash spread quickly many regular programs as cameramen and photographers captured flames, smoke, and sadly, bodies of people who fell to their deaths rather than remaining trapped in the building. Another plane, United Airlines Flight 175, was flown into the south tower at 9:02 a.m.at least one more plane headed toward Washington, D.C. At 9:37 a.m, and was flown into the Pentagon. The brave men and women on Flight 93 refused to let their plane be used to hurt America. They died as heroes, as they retook the plane, crashing it into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania instead of allowing the hijacked plane to go on to its target, believed to be nearby Washington, D.C. It was 10:03 on September 11, 2001.America was clearly under attack. Many sayings are associated with the September 11 like "We will never forget". Glenn Winuk was a volunteer firefighter and EMT in Jericho LI. When the planes hit, he ran into the South Tower, medical bag in hand. It took the Department of Justice 8 years to pay his family a survivor death benefit and award him a Medal of Valor

Shawn Bowman was a volunteer firefighter in Albany, NY during undergraduate and graduate school while he attended SUNY Albany. He was a member of McKownville Fire Department. After college, he went to work for Morgan Stanley and then to Cantor Fitzgerald. He lived in Staten Island where it most likely is a paid volunteer fire service.

Terrorists crashed a total of four planes that day. It is a complete insult to any human's intelligence to believe something as stupid as our Government purposefully destroying those buildings and people. There were previous attacks and people caught for those attacks. All Muslim extremists that were caught.

The idea that any country could keep something like that quiet for over a decade is foolishness.

Four aircraft were hijacked from east coast airports. Two of these aircraft struck the two main towers of the World Trade Center (WTC1 and WTC2) in Manhattan, New York City. A third struck one side of the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC. The fourth is believed to have been retaken by the passengers aboard the aircraft; it crashed in a rural area near Shanksville, PA.

None were killed in the twin towers. Eight children died on 9/11 but they were all plane passengers.
