September 11 Attacks

On a Sunday.

Four aircraft were hijacked from east coast airports. Two of these aircraft struck the two main towers of the World Trade Center (WTC1 and WTC2) in Manhattan, New York City. A third struck one side of the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC. The fourth is believed to have been retaken by the passengers aboard the aircraft; it crashed in a rural area near Shanksville, PA.

While the World Trade Center's twin towers in New York City (an area now known as "ground zero") is the principle place people remember, it did take place in other areas. Notably the Pentagon and the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania

After September 11, Americans found solidarity. Americans became patriotic. Americans were very generous. Americans helped each other in any way they could.

15 Saudi Arabians

2 from United Arab Emirates

1 Egyptian

1 Lebanese

He was assassinated in May 2011 by allied special forces after he was discovered hiding in Pakistan.

all of the people that died and all of the buildings that collapsed

9/11 was a tragedy that occurred in the year 2001 that struck a solid blow to the nations government. Yes the people died and the buildings fell but the truth is that some of America's finest were in those buildings when the airplanes hit the towers. What most people forget is that the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania were also hit on this day.
