It is a Stevens Model 311.

Dates are found behind the hinge pin, ahead of the trigger. Remove the barrel to see. It will be a circle with a letter in it. A is 1949 and each letter adds another year. B-1950, etc.. there is no "0" or "Q". X is 1970.

Could be dirty, could be the ammunition, could be a worn part. You will need to take it to a gunsmith to find out for sure.

It's probably the ammo. I put a box of 35+ year old ammo through mine and 80% of them jammed and that's being generous. I bought some new ammo and it hasn't jammed since.

I researched about it and it might be a western antique!!!! It is also from E.C. Meacham Arms co. It might be somewhere from around the late 1800's. If it is in good condition it might be worth somewhere around 3500dollars to 6500 dollars! I'm not sure but that is what I read on Google.

Acier Cockerill is not the gun manufacturer, but the maker of the steel in the barrels. It means the gun has fluid steel barrels and not damascus steel. It probably dates from no earlier than late 1890's through 1940. Cockerill Sambre is the major Belgian steel maker (equivalent to Krupp or Vickers)

Damascus steel is made by folding a mild steel together with a high-carbon steel to make it stronger, and gives it a pretty pattern. Problem with Damascus barrels is that, while they work fine with low pressure black powder loads, modern smokeless shotshells are likely to cause the barrel to rupture, which is bad. If a shotgun has a Damascus barrel, it's very old and probably just a wall-hanger.

In excellent like new condition this gun values at $195. 00. In average used condition this gun would value at $95. 00.

depends on the condition it is in. if it is in fairly good condition, i would pay about 250 - 300$ for it. if its brand new id pay 350 for it. bad condition like 150.
