Do you have to have license to buy a shotgun?

It depends on where you are. In most U.S. states, you do not have to have a license.

What is the value of a central arms co st louis 410 shotgun?

Your Central Arms Co. shotgun was made for Shapleigh Hdw. Co. of St. Louis, MO by the Crescent Firearms Co. of Norwich, CT.

Crescent was best known for producing "house brand" shotguns. These were made for and sold by a variety of hardware companies, mail order stores, retailers and distributors. More than 200 names are known or thought to have been used on shotguns produced by Crescent.

These Crescent house brand shotguns were of decent quality, but were inexpensive firearms, and have little or no collector value. Depending on condition, they're generally valued in the $75 to $150 range.

Those made prior to WWI were usually made for blackpowder only, and shouldn't be used with modern smokeless powder shells.

If in doubt, have your gun checked out by a gunsmith before shooting. If the chamber length is 2 inches, that IS the old black powder chambering, and modern day 2.5 or 3 inch ammo should NOT be fired in it.

Do you need a permit to have a shotgun?

Local ordinances and state law determines whether or not you need a "permit" to own a shotgun. The laws and ordinances differ by locality.

The Federal government doesn't require you to have a permit to own a firearm.

You can find out by calling your local Sheriff's office and asking them.

12 gauge single barrel shotgun that says guyandotte and says it's made in west Virginia in 1901 does anyone know anything about it value manufacturer anything?

I have such a gun. Mine is a 16 gauge single barrel. I do no know the manufacture date but I believe that they were made for the Emmons-Hawkins Hdwe. Co. which at one time was a large hardware supply store located in Huntington. Mine does not have the date of manufacture on it. I believe it to be in excess of 100 years old in that it belonged to my grandfather.

Can you use slugs in a double barrel shot gun?

You can shoot slugs in a double. Slugs are best shot through a cylinder bore or improved cylinder choke. The tighter the choke, the more they will be disrupted. There is risk of excessive wear and damage through a tight choke--tighter than Modified Choke.

What year did Walter and son make double barrel shotguns?

I have a Walter & Sons double barrel shotgun.

Markings on bottom of barrel under locking clip are JD2 / 10 over a C (10gadge)

also E over LG in a triangel with a crown at top.

This indicates Made in Liege Belgum.(parts anyway)

I think the gun was put together by W.S. around 1900.

The marking if yours are the same are between 1898 to 1914.

But they(Walter & Sons) probably made other guns from other manufacturers.

Hope this helps, look for other marks.
