What family is the snail part of?
There are over 120 estimated families of snails in existence today.
Slugs are an evolution of an adult snail .It starts when a boy/girl of age 11 and above uses a Digivice to attract attention of the Sun's rays .Snails within a 100 meter square feet radius around the digivice will undergo Keropok ,which in Plokanise means 'Shed' .It doesnt shed its body ,but instead ,its shell becomes a full grown lizard ,which will then die in 10 seconds .That explains why dinosaurs are scared of slugs .(Also answers how eclipses happen .)
Mistle thrush do eat slugs. Their diet also consists of earthworms, insects, and wild fruits or berries. These birds are 10.5 inches in length are found in place like Britain or Scotland.
Birds do in fact eat slugs and snails. They carry the snail to a rocky place and crack open the shell to get the snail out.
well u see slugs are very different and have often seemed like aliens u see they are very much like kate b they are from a different planet they are rude to people starting with the letter m and they masturbate
Is a snail an amphibian or a reptile?
I think that turtles and snails have shells so they can protect there self from other animals.
add. The invention of the shell by snails and such was a major advance in evolution, for it provided a rigid part to which muscles could be attached. This provides superior locomotion. As above, this also provides protection from enemies.
The turtles are a different case, for these guys already have a skeleton to which muscles and articulation is attached. Their shell is a continuation of their body, not merely a separate case. So they may be considered to have both an exoskeleton and an endoskeleton.
Larger animals such as Rhino's and Hippo's also have very toughened skin almost forming an armour plate for protection.
What eats algae in a fresh water creek?
Herbivorous fish, crustaceans, worms and gastropods all eat green algae in a creek.
Different types of periwinkle snails?
2 kinds are apple snails, and mystery snails. I have mystery snails. Make sure they have plenty of calcium, or they're shells will crack.
Tree snails mainly eat fungus. But they probably also eat leaves.
Slugs are, for the most part, harmless to humans. I'm frankly not sure what the second half of your question is supposed to mean. About the only way a slug could hurt you is if you ate it; and it would likely be parasites in the slug, rather than the slug itself, that caused the problem.
Why do your pet snails keep dying?
Not sure if your asking how do you know?
A lot of the time they are hibinating and you can wake them up by running warm water over them and placing them on some food, if they keep sealing up then they need the area to be more wet and maybe warmer and they hibinate when cold and dry
What is the hole on the side of a slug?
Its known to be how they breath, they do not breath through their mouths, they breath through the holes on their sides.

How does a snail react to light?
"It will be a surprise to many biologists that snails are found in large numbers on the dry, barren surfaces of certain hot deserts. The present study is concerned with one such snail, Sphincterochila boissieri, which occurs in the deserts of the Near East. Live specimens of this snail, withdrawn in the shell and dormant, can be found on the desert surface in mid-summer, fully exposed to sun and heat. The surface temperature of these deserts may reach 70 °C and more than a year may pass between rains…
"The maximum air temperature, reached at noon, was 42.6 °C, and the maximum soil surface temperature in the sun, reached at 13.00, was 65.3 °C. Under the snail, in the space between the soil surface and the smooth shell, the maximum temperature was 60.1 °C, or 5.2 °C below the adjacent soil surface in the open sun. The lower temperature under the shell is expected, for the shell provides shade for that particular spot of the soil surface on which it sits. Inside the shell in the largest whorl, located in contact with the ground, the maximum temperature was 56.2 °C. In the second and third whorls the temperature was lower, reaching a maximum of 50.3 °C.
"It is important that the animal, when withdrawn, does not fill the shell and leaves most of the largest whorl filled with air…The snail, withdrawn to the upper parts of the shell, is significantly cooler…
"Why does the snail not heat up to the same temperature as the soil surface? The answer lies in its high reflectivity in combination with the slow conduction of heat from the substrate. Within the visible part of the solar spectrum (which contains about one-half of the total incident solar radiant energy) the reflectance of these snails is about 90%. In the near infrared, up to 1350 nm, the reflectance is similar to that of magnesium oxide and is estimated to be 95%. In the total range of the solar spectrum, therefore, we can say that the snails reflect well over 90% of the incident radiant energy.
"…heat flow, however, is impeded by two important circumstances. Firstly, the snail shell is in direct contact with the rough soil surface only in a few spots, and a layer of still air separates much of its bottom surface from the ground, forming an insulatng [sic] air cushion. Next, and perhaps more important, the snail is withdrawn into the upper parts of the shell and the largest whorl is filled with air; this constitutes a further impediment to heat flow into the snail."
What is a snail's habitat and climate?
It depends if they live n land you can usually find them in plants and if it is a moist day look on the grass therre are thousands!
Where in the socean do sea slugs live?
