Where can I find information on a Parker Brothers shotgun using the serial number?

There are numerous good books on the market (although some are now out of print) covering Parker shotguns. The internet, of course, might also be helpfull. The two books I have on Parkers are. 1. "Parker America's Finest Shotgun" by Peter Johnson, Stackpole Books. 2. "The Parker Gun" by Larry Baer, Beinfeld Publishing. I suspect that both of these are now out of print, you might get lucky in a used book store though. Another good source concerning values and serial numbers would be the current edition of Fjestad "The Blue Book of gun Values". Any major book store should carry new copies of this pricing guide. Good luck

What is manufacture date of Winchester 9422 serial number F66577?

Not sure. I just bought one that has a similar "f" prefix to the number and can't find the answer. That serial number appears to be from 1972. The phone number for Winchester is 800-333-3288 or 801-876-2711 and you will need your model and serial number for them to look up your date of manufacture.

What is the value of a smith and Wesson model 3000 pump shotgun?

The pump-action Model 3000 was imported by Smith & Wesson in the early '80s to compete with the popular Remington 870. It's "split lifter" feeding mechanism addressed the Model 870s biggest drawback, the possibility of a "jam" if the operator "short-stroked" the action while racking a fresh shell into the chamber.

Not long after the introduction of the Model 3000, Remington finally got around to resolving that deficiency with the Model 870's design with the incorporation of the "Flex Tab" modification.

The Models 3000, along with the semi-auto Models 1000 and the centerfire Model 1500 line of rifles, were discontinued in 1984 when S&W's corporate parent Lear Siegler was acquired by Bangor Punta.

The bad news is that few, if any parts are available are available for the Howa (Japan) made Models 3000.

The good news is that those Models 3000 were well made, durable and very robust. A special edition with an extended magazine tube and a Choate side-folding stock kicked around for years in the trunks of California Highway Patrol cruisers.

Prices from $200 to $300 USD are often seen depending on wear.

After S&W discontinued sales the Howa shotgun was marketed by Mossberg keeping the Model 3000 designation. I'm not sure how many years Mossberg sold them. Parts wise they are exactly the same.

How do you disassemble a Smith and Wesson .380?

If its the sigma model sw380 then the only real trick is to remove the rear most pin located at the rear high on the back strap. That portion where the web of your thumb and pointing finger rests on the rear of the gun. That is the only pin you need to drive out with the tool that comes with the kit. That's the only pin you should remove. Dont mess with the pin located above the trigger. Careful not to loose any parts. I should also think you could Google the manual or find it from the makers web site. Its an easy take apart and its reverse to put it back together.. Refer to Brownells Schematics online .com : listed as part 17 ~ rear sear pin ; yet no definition on the proper tool but S&W has takedown tool available from Brownells for K,L,N frames { 1 tool } revolvers ?

What is the age of a smith and Wesson model 14-4 serial number 8K77394?

The K-38 Masterpiece started having "Model 14" stamped on the yoke in 1957. The model was discontinued in 1981.

S&W manufactured about a gazillion different handgun models between 1857 and 2005 and will probably add a couple more while I type this sentence. Well, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but they cover 87 pages in the Blue Book and that serial number will have been used on many of them. If the model number or name is not marked on the gun, I'd suggest getting a copy of the Standard Catalog of Firearms from your library and trying to identify it there. Some models may have ben made only during a narrow range of years and others for decades. There is a lot of general information available about S&W, but I do not have access to any serial lists to identify exact dates of manufacture. THE book on S&W is the Standard Catalog of SMITH & WESSON which is available through www.armchairgunshow.com but I am not enough in S&W to spend the $35. According to this web site http://www.handloads.com/misc/Smith.Model.Changes.asp the 14-4 runs from 1968 thru 1977. 8K77394 was built in 1975. Unless the firearm is stamped somewhere that indicates it was actually a 14-4 it would be safe to assume it was a 14-3.
