The FP is the flex player, this is the person who is in the line up and is playing of the field but does not bat. The DH (which has been changed to DP-designated player) is the designated hitter. This is the person who is in the line up and bats but does not play in the field. Not every team uses this. It is just an option. And you can only have on FP and DP in a game.

yes there is a difference because a major league baseball bat is wood and a girls are metal. also i minor leagues girls say softball and boys say baseball. once my friend was using a baseball bat and was hitting better. in softball you can not use a baseball bat! ---- never use a baseball bat in softball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in tournament softball there can be an unlimited number of walks, but in league it doesnt matter how many walks but how many runs. only seven runs allowed.

PO most often stands for put out. It simply just means there was an out. In some cases a score keeper may keep the number of put outs made by a player for statistical reasons.

in order to create a solid offensive line up in softball, one has to understand the strengths and weaknesses of his/her players. The lead off or first batter must be one of your most consistant batters so that they can regularly get on base without having to sacrifice and out. Your 2nd batter should also be consistant but primarily a good bunter and regularly advance runners to the next base in order to put them in scoring position. Typically they are fast along with the lead off batter. The 3,4,5, and sometimes 6th batters are your power house of the line up and therefore consist of the best hitters on the team.. usually go for power. the last batter is typically another consistant hitter in order to strengthen the lower half of the line up. The most important part however, is understanding the trengths of each player so that as a coach you know strategically what to do offensively if things do not go as planned in the line up. You must be able to improvise and have faith in all 9 batters in order to be successful.

Jogging pants will work until you have to slide or dive. They will usually rip a lot faster than normal softball pants.

Yes a player can pick up with any division they choose in their age group or above. Not only can they do pick up ball if an A player, for what ever reason, chooses to they can play B ball all season. Typically that would hurt them in the long run but it is their choice.

College softball distance is 43 feet. Recently the national high school governing organisation voted to move high school pitchers from 40 to 43 feet, thus giving them greater flexibility. This was to began in the 2010/2011 season.

This reason is far more plausible than the excuse offered by Omaha South High School, who suggested that the move was to provide more grazing room for their homecoming queen.
