You certainly Can. The only downfall about not playing your PS3 on an HD television is that obviously the quality of the graphics will be a lot lower. In the PS3 box you are supplied with an AV Cable that consists of three coloured prongs: White, Yellow and Red which all correspond to a coloured socket on the side of your television. Alternatively you can buy an adapter to convert these three jacks into a scart head which then simply plugs into the back of your tv.

From personal experience I would suggest buying an HD television to get the most out of your PS3. If you are unable to use the AV cable as it comes and then the scart adapter as a last resort.

Gamestop has certain games that they are looking for and some are PS2 titles. They will take any of the titles they are looking for in trade toward purchase of products they have for sale. However you will not trade in a single PS2 game for PS3 games.

It all depends what you want from your console. If you want the absolute best media center device that has an added game feature as such, get the PS3. If you want a device dedicated to HD gaming, but you will always carry the risk of RROD and many other errors, then the Xbox 360 is a good choice. If you're looking for pure gaming fun with innovative features and a really fun experience, the Wii is your best bet. Personally, this is my ranking order: Wii, Xbox 360, PS3.

here is why:

the size of the ps3 game CD is about 20 gb or so but the one for the ps2 games is 800 kb or 1200 kb max, u can realixe this from the memory card because it is only 8000 kb,so how can a console that plays cds that have 20 gb space play a game that only has 800 kb of space

The game disc fits fine. The PS3 has no problem playing the smaller file size on select PS1 titles. The Game software is different and you can download some PS1 titles from the PlayStation store to play on the PS3. The PS3 was made to play PS2 games and they had difficulties and stopped making those consoles. Only the early 4 USB port machines will play some of the PS2 titles. There is nothing you can do to get the ability to play PS2 games for the newer machines
