What is the value of a springfield 22 model 52-A?

I would like to know the value of a Springfield 22 short. long or long rifle There are no dates when it was made or no model or serial number just the work challenge

**********************

If you write in this box, your question goes to the "already answered" bin- caught it by accident. Rifles with no serial number were made (legally) before 1968, when the law required them to be added. Value of any gun depends on make, model, and condition. Depending on the condition of your rifle, these could run $50-$125.

What is the difference between a Glock pistol and Springfield Armory XD pistol?

It's easier to list the similarities.

Both are polymer framed striker-fired autoloading pistols with detachable magazines. Both have a safety lever on the trigger. Both use the Browning tilting barrel short recoil action.

Everything else is different. They are completely different designs from different countries sold by different companies.

XDs have several features that Glocks do not. Most notable are the loaded chamber indicator on the top of the slide, the cocked striker indicator on the rear of the slide, the grip safety at the rear of the grip and the ambidextrous magazine release.

Both Glocks and the original XD lack manual safeties. XD is now also available with manual safety.

There is also a difference in the grip angle of Glock and XD. The angle of the XD has been compared to the M1911. Many people who find Glocks uncomfortable like the XD better.

How do you field strip a Springfield micro compact 1911?

<<<<EXTREME CAUTION THIS IS A DEADLY INSTRUMENT >>>>>>

While I have seen some demonstrations of an SA Micro compact 1911 disassembled without the use of the "take down tool", I have yet to be able to successfully disassemble without the "take down tool". I am still trying to find out if this is possible.

Here is the only way I've done it so far.

Remove magazine

Unload the gun.

Unload it again.

Point at safe wall/floor and dry fire.

Make sure its still unloaded.

Slide back (so that the hammer is cocked fully).

Lock the slide in place with slide lock.

Insert take down tool (basically a plastic or brass semi cylinder), snaps onto guide rod. BE CAREFUL or it will snap your fingers (if slide is released).

Let slide down (mainly cause you'll have to grip a little differently, and this will "lock" the take down tool in place)

Slide back part way until the linkage pin's flang lines up with the divit on slide (this is the small divit, not the big divit. Big is slide lock, small is the gap to remove the linkage pin). There should be much less pressure on the slide because the spring is partially disengaged (via take down tool).

Remove link pin.

Slide the slide forward.

Now you have two pieces, frame/hammer/extractor/trigger and slide/barrel/spring assembly.

Don't further disassemble frame parts unless you know what you are doing, totally unnecessary for cleaning.

Now dealing with only the slide/barrel/spring half of the gun:

Remove recoil spring assembly (only possible because take down tool prevents it from coming back) ((be careful the take down tool doesn't pop-off, it'll pinch you))

Drop linkage down to flat on barrel.

Pull barrel out of the front of the slide.

Its stripped now.

Perform in reverse to reassembly. Careful removing take down tool. Do so with the slide locked back. Again being very careful removing take down tool, so as to avoid pinching. (plenty of blood blister to attest to pinching)
