Sometime between 1920 and 1948 by J. Stevens. A .410 in like-new condition could be worth up to $450-$500. If well used but still serviceable, $200-$300 would probably be about right.

i have been looking for literature on the same type shotgun. I have a savage springfield model 67d pump 12 ga.and so far have been unlucky in turning up any info. Good Luck

This pump shotgun is a 20ga w/ 28" barrel, round wood handguard and gold bead front sight. Ser # A496XXX. The outside is blued (Rust brown) with aluminum trigger guard.

The Stevens Division of Savage Arms made the Springfield shotguns from 1920 to 1948.

Your Serial number indicates the born date of your firearm was May of 1970. This firearm was discontinued in 1988. Part and diagram can be obtained from Numrich Arms In West Hurly N.Y.

You can probably get wood for your shotgun from Numrich Gunparts, but you would have to determine exactly which Stevens model matches your Springfield. I'd check the yellow pages for a local gunsmith and let him figure it out.

hi,i have a Springfield 16 ga pump,model 67 series B.In good condition its worth around $225 I have a 67 F 20 guage that had the original purchase tag when I bought it later on and it was originally bought new in the mid 60's. I have a Springfield Savage 410 pump and it's worth about $200.00.

This trade name gun was made for Blish, Mizet and Silliman Hardware Company of Atchinson, KS, by J Stevens Arms Co c. 1920-1945.

The model 235 was manufactured from 1912 to 1932 (no Stevens guns were made from 1916 to 1920). Value will range from $50 if beat-up and rusted to $300 if like-new and never fired. Most will trade for around $200.

Marlin made a Golden 39A .22 lever rifle from 1954 to 1963 (serial prefix L through W). The Marlin model 50 was a semi-auto 12 ga. shotgun. If you have a .22 rifle marked "Golden 50," it isn't a Marlin. I have a Golden 50 Glenfield Mod. 65 from the Marlin Firearms company built in 1970.

I have just purchased one myself, however it was a 16 GAUGE. I have checked into the value and have been qouted anywhere from $225.00 to $375.00 depending on condition. Andrew Kimmen

The Gun Digest Book of Modern Gun Values, 9th ed, shows the Stevens No.66 with a used value of $75 to $80.

Based on the one I just bought at the Columbia SC show, I paid $165. It was the best of 2 at the show. The wood is in pretty nice shape and the metal is in good shape with nice original finish but tiny spots in the finish. (very tiny spots) The barrel was dirty but cleaned up nice. It showed very little wear. . BTW the other 18E at the show was also $165 but the metal had large rust spots and the fire arm showed heavy wear.

I bought a new one in 1971 20 gauge with 22 magnum, price then around 80.00

Modern Gun Values or the Gun Trader's Guide are both good sources of information. Current editions of these books can be picked up at common places such as Wal-Mart or Barnes and Nobles. They have additional information and helps you find any other identifying marks.

just bought one used at collectors firearms for 125, very good shape fires s, l, lr. lots of guys like this for pest control around their property since the shorts are so quiet. any rifle that fires semi auto all three of these rounds is worth more used than other single type cartridge 22's. this rifle could have eaqsily been 175 bucks, most of the similar rilfes at the gun shows that come through houston, the price seem sto start at about 175. and goes up due to condition, and if they are old remmy or winny's. as far as ammo goes, i tried all types of shorts with no luck , lots of jams, until i got to the cci hi vel shorts , hollow point , plated, they would just thwip away!

THE NUMBER IS A PRODUCTION NUMBER NOT A MODEL NUMBER. I HAVE USED THAT NUMBER TO IDENTIFY PARTICULAR GUNS IN MY COLLECTION BUT, I AM NOT CERTAIN IT CAN BE CALLED A SERIAL NUMBER EITHER.

In 1968 the Gun Control Act, [aka: the GCA of 1968], was passed in the US. Part of the GCA of 1968 required that newly manufactured firearms be stamped/inscribed with a serial number by the manufacturer, and located on the receiver or frame. Firearms made before 1968 were not required to have a serial number and therefore most, [especially house brand and utility grade weapons], lack one, or if present might be found anywhere on the weapon. Now firearms made under contract for a military or government organization, etc. will almost definitely bear a serial number as most militaries & government agencies require one for records purposes, to keep track of who has what.

Beebe shotguns were made by one of two two manufacturers. Harrington & Richardson Arms Company made them from 1871 to about 1975. Hopkins & Allen made shotguns from 1868 to 1915.

Probably. The name was owned by Sears Roebuck and after a brief period when they owned their own firearms manufacturer (Meriden Arms) Stevens made most of their single shot shotguns.

The name with "Tool Co" at the end was only used from 1887 - 1916.

Unless you need some odd obsolete caliber, like 44XL shot or .32 rimfire, you get it anywhere that sells ammunition. For the odd ball cartridges, you either invest in a lot of equipment to make your own (44XL can be fashioned from 44-40 brass) or do without (.32 rimfire can't be reloaded and no one makes cases) and retire the gun.

If it is a 12 ga side by with a logo of a dog leaping through a circle and "WHIPPET" along with "H.S.B. & CO." it's a J. Stevens made for Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Company of Chicago, Illinois. Likely comps to STEVENS 311, if it has no serial number it is pre 1968. It's a shooter with no collector value appx $150-$250 depending on condition, slightly less than the Stevens due to off brand production. I have the same gun in 30" 2 bead, full/mod and use it as a "Buddy" gun for trap range.
