Is there a $1 gold coin with George Washington on one side and the Statue of Liberty on the other. Does that exist?

I gather they're worth $10 each or less. There doesn't seem to be a huge market for these things yet as far as I know, but I stand to be corrected.

Much of the life of an Indian citizen was governed by their caste- or social position. Many were Hindu, and some were Moslem. The rumor began that the bullets of the cartridges were lubricated with beef tallow (fat) or pig fat. Since the cow is a sacred animal in the Hindu religion, and the pig is an unclean animal in the Moslem religion, and the paper cartridges were used by BITING the end off the cartridge (before pouring the powder down the barrel) a rumor began that this was a plan by the English to break the caste of the Sepoys by exposing them to a forbidden practice. The resistance by the Sepoys was poorly handled, and was the start of the "Indian Mutiny". In fact, neither beef tallow nor pig fat was used on the cartridges- but rumors can be very damaging.

The U.S. did not mint any silver dollars for circulation from 1804 to 1835 inclusive.

In the last few decades there has been a flood of counterfeit dollar coins, mostly from the Far East. Some are excellent and a lot are laughably bad, with impossible designs and dates. If you have an 1823 "dollar" I'm afraid that you have one of the latter counterfeits.

A 1865 seated liberty dollar in poor condition can be upwards of $350 as a collector piece. Those in better condition can go for thousands of dollars. They are a rare coin with few in existence.

There were many people that created the Statue of Liberty. The workers that worked on the Statue of Liberty are Edouard de Laboulaye and Auguste Bartholdi.
