Answer: The one that killed him was. Unfortunately, animals are almost always euthanized after an attack on a human, even if they didn't mean it. Steve Irwin believed, however, that any time a human is bitten, scratched, etc...by an animal, that it was always the human's fault, not the animal's. He said this to his own kids whenever they got bitten.
