(added on again: I was very concerned when I found my 2 year old daughter humping her doll. So after a lot of research and asking physicians the conclusion we have come to is that this is a calming affect for children. Our daughter is now almost 5 and continues to do this. She will only do it alone and gets very embarassed if you interrupt. But, we have found that she does this more after she has been in trouble, so the calming effect makes sense. It is still concerning to see, but what irritates me is uneducated people that judge the situation without any information. We have been assured this is not related to sexual behaviors and does not occur because behaviors the child has seen. The whole situation is concerning in any parents mind, but again we have been told it is not anything to worry about)
