Summer Camp

There are many churches that hold vacation bible school and it almost always is free.Most parents that have the time can volunteer to help in these camps.Some parents even donate food and drinks because the vacation bible schools rely on church members and others for donations to support the camp.

well go to the park that has the swan boats and all the plants then go like across the street to newbury street the have nice restaurant's and casual restaurant's and shopping

The first thing that comes to mind is hygeine.. you will need to bring your toothbrush of course, and well stuff like a hairbrush, maybe bring a razor and shaving cream if you'll need it, deodorant, soap, chap stick, sun screen, insect repellent, towels, clothes of course, etc.

Just think about it and I'm sure you'll think of everything ya need... just make sure to get the essentials at least!!

also remember food and drinks unless the place you are going to or who you go with provides it for you. you might want to take money for shops also change for emergency's. do not forget all the basics like your tent and sleeping bag.

Bring at least one non-uniform outfit.

Bring LOTS of snacks.

Make sure you have long pants AND shorts. Mornings are like -40 and by lunchtime it's 80.

At least in the units I've been in, there are no locks on bathroom stalls, so make sure you knock or check for feet first.

Bring a fan for your cabin. You're counselor might already have one, but it's nice having two anyway.

Bring a sheet and a warm blanket, evenings are hot and by morning it's freezing.

Bring good walking shoes, you WILL be walking a lot.

Talk to someone who seems cool about something that's happening there or something you want to do.

Kids are often involved in sports, or at least asked to play in gym, so it can be fun to practice their favorite games outside. Many kids like to play with bubbles and chalk in the summertime. Local libraries also have programs to encourage children to read, you can bring a kid to the library and help them choose which book to read next.

Many people decide to work at camp because they remember having fun at camp as a camper. They tend to have a passion for the outdoors, or for working with kids, or both. Camps are good summer jobs because they provide room and board away from home, so it's a fairly stress free situation for college kids who aren't sure they want to stay home for 3 months.

It depends on the summer camp and the type of volunteer. Many volunteers have titles, like counselor or program leader or craft coordinator. Also, you can go for the volunteer's name, either their first name if you are an adult or Mr./Ms. and their last name if you are younger.

I am going to camp this summer. There was a packing list, and I'll list it here: Sleeping Bag Pillow Raincoat Water Bottle w/ your name Swimsuit (ONLY if you know you are swimming.) Bath Towels; Wash Cloths; Underwear, Socks Tennis Shoes Flipflops Shorts and Tshirts If you are going to a religious summer camp, like a Christian one for example, bring a Bible. Duffel Bag. Sunscreen, chapstick, insect repellant Toiletries. (deodorant, etc.) That should be everything!! :) Peace!

Summer camps (sleep-away) are on average about 4 weeks long. Some are shorter at 2 weeks, and others are longer at 6 or 8 weeks long. Many summer camps are for just 1 weeks sessions. There are numerous summer camps that are also day-camps that can last for a week, while others are like day programs for most of the summer.

first of all bring essentials like an air bed ( if you have one)or a sleeping bag you want to be as comfy as possible. then a toothbrush, cream, p.j.'s,stuffed animal, your favorite pillow (for a pillow fight of course!) clothes for the next day, and anything else you would need for your nightly routine. then pack stuff to do if your friends fall asleep like an ipod sodoku or a quiet game that doesn't provide too much light. then things to do (especially when your supposed to sleep) like a flash light a pad and paper a list of things to talk about a game that you all can do togother. maybe even a joke book. do whatever you want trust me you will find somthing to do. Your friend probably has stuff to do too. just have fun!!

According American Camp Association's recent data. There are nearly 12,000 Traditional Summer Camps in the U.S. Out of those 7000 are Overnight camp while the rest are Day Camps. Only 2,500 summer camps operated in the country is independently owned and for-profit while most are run by Non-profit groups like YMCA, Camp Fire USA, just to name a few. 80% of the camps are considered co-ed and offer many programs beyond traditional archery, swimming, hiking and rope climbing.
