Who are the Bad Plastic Surgeons to Avoid?

Cut and pasted from a previous post: Do not go to Dr. manuel Gutierrez Romero Please do not go to Dr. Manuel Gutierrez Romero. He is located in Tijuana, just right across from the border. My sister and I both went to Dr. Romero for breast implants. He was highly recommended by some co-workers. Dr. Romero appeared to be a friendly man and knowledgable in his field. However, we took my mom in for a belly tuck and the surgery went wrong. Soon after the surgery my mom became ill and she went back to Dr. Romero who said that there were some complications due to the surgery and the area became infected. Dr. Romero said they would need to perform another tummy tuck, due to the complications of the second surgery my mom passed away under his care. He did not have the necessary equipment when she fell in state of shock or in order to revive her. We tried to do all we could in order to have a doctor in San Diego look at her, but there was not enough time. If we knew he was not properly equipped for a situation like this we would have never gone to him. Dr. Romero he did return the money for the surgery, but my mom's life is still lost. I would never wish that on anyone else. i am not making up this story, for additional

What tools do brain surgeons use?

Most folks hear surgeon and think of scalpels, all the old style stuff that cuts and holds open and sucks. Traditionally they have:

  • Scalpels
  • Needles
  • Clamps
  • Retractors

The modern surgeon has tools more set up for science fiction stories:

  • Tiny robot arms that work off computer guidance to do delicate operations
  • Lasers to cut and cauterize
  • Endoscopic cutters that can be snaked into your body with cutters, TV cameras and laser cauterizers
  • Imaging systems to follows the progress of instruments in the body after they are inserted through the navel
  • Memory metal wire that adopts anew shape snaring clots after insertion into blood vessels

Bone doctors have tools like those in a carpenter's workshop. They all are air powered so no spark ignites the oxygen or anesthetic

  • Saws - manual and power
  • Tools that look like Black and Decker drills
  • Power screwdrivers
  • Chisels
  • Clamps and screws

When you have surgery it is interesting to opt for a local so you can be awake during the operation to watch and ask questions about tools and techniques. Most doctors are proud of their skills and like to have an appreciative audience.
