I think Oprah is the typical girl from the south that was raised by strong moral and religious values. This does not mean that one can not divert from the path that was lighted and chosen for them but, most of us Southern Belles do not travel far from our teachings and that is to do what is right and just for everyone. Tell the truth, always, even, if it is not in your favor. We are taught that Less problems occur in the long run from telling the truth. We are also taught to treat others a we wish to be treated. She gets her open heart and kindness from true Southern hospitality. Most of us try to help anyone that we can whether, we know then or not. She is not but, 5 or 6 years older than me and was living in MS when there was so much racial tension. The events that were unfolding before the younger generations eyes was so profound. We all could see the people were people not a white kid or a black kid but a person that had hopes, dreams, and goals one and alike and each deserved the same opportunity to achieve them. Oprah may live and work in Chicago but, I see a true Southern Belle. You are a phenomenal woman Oprah and we all love you...the world needs more people like you. God Bless you and your work.
