Going swimming won't cause the tampon to get lost in your body. The vagina is a dead end, and the tampon has nowhere to go.
Should you go to see a doctor if you accidentally left a tampon in a couple a months ago for 6 days?
Having used one I don't see how it could be left in for 6 months. They are not comfortable to wear. If this did happen the bacteria build up would result in toxic shock syndrome resulting it entering the bloodstream and result in death If not taken to a hospital. These things are not something you fool with or forget.
Pain when inserting tampon not the applicator?
Tampons are dry and absorbent so will cause friction against delicate vaginal mucosa during insertion - especially if using commercial tampons such as Tampax, Playtex, Kotex, etc. as these are made from bleached chemically-treated rayon so rougher and may cause irritation.
Absorbency is a factor too, if using too high an absorbency or your flow isn't heavy enough for tampons the lack of lubrication will cause discomfort - too high an absorbency also increases risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome. If using correct absorbency but still feeling discomfort try organic tampons, soft tampons, or sponge tampons, also consider menstrual cups or softcups.
Can you use tampons with a prolapse ring?
No, a tampon cannot get stuck in the uterus.
Tampons sit within the vaginal canal, at the top of the vaginal canal is the cervix which is the opening to the uterus - the opening within the cervix is too small for a tampon to pass through, also the tampon sits slightly lower down than the cervix.
What is the biggest type of tampon?
Different types of tampons include...
These are typically made from bleached chemically treated rayon fleece compressed into a rocket-shape, coming in several different absorbencies; junior, super, super plus, and ultra. TSS is primarily associated with this type of tampon.
These are made from unbleached hypo-allergenic cotton fleece compresses into a rocket-shape, coming in several different absorbencies; junior, super, super plus, and ultra. TSS has never been associated with this type of tampon.
These are made from synthetic sponge in a tall disk shape, coming in a single absorbency and either with or without lubricant for easier use. TSS has never been associated with this type of tampon.
These are made from natural sponge, differing in size depending on absorbency, these are moistened with water before use and are reusable. There have only been a handfull of TSS cases associated with this type of tampon.
These are made from various types of cloth, including cotton or bamboo, usually flat strips of fabric that are rolled to insert, these are reusable. TSS has never been associated with this type of tampon.
What should you do if your tampon breaks inside?
It sounds gross, but you have to reach up in your vagina with your fingers and pull the tampon out. There really isn't another safe way to do it other than having a doctor remove it (which isn't necessary). DO NOT try to pull it out with anything other than your fingers.
What is best for a girl with her period pads or tampon?
Why might using a tampon during pregnancy be a problem?
There is no reason why using a tampon during pregnancy would be a problem. Pregnancy usually comes with a lack of periods, though, so tampons aren't needed. If you're pregnant and bleeding, you need to consult with your prenatal care provider right away.
How many times do you change a tampon a day?

Should you wear tampons for heavy discharge?
No. Tampon packets always say that tampons are only safe for use when you have your period. There would not be enough discharge to fill a tampon and this would increase your risk of TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome). For discharge, you would be better off using a pantyliner.
Why do you get clear fluids on your panties through tampon?
The last day or so of your period may just be so light that you are no longer passing the blood from the uterus but also the clear discharge from glands in your vagina or mucus from your cervix that is colorless.
Why do tampons make your vgaina hurt?
It depends on the cricumstance.
Most common reasons for pain during tampon use;
If you are new to using tampons the chances are that you are not relaxing enough or inserting at the wrong angle - make sure you are fully relaxed and aim the tampon towards the small of the back, feel for resistance so you can guide into place.
If you've used tampons before and this is a new problem make sure you are using correct absorbency (always use lightest absorbency for your flow). If you use commercial tampons like Tampax, Playtex or Kotex these contain chemicals you may be allergic to - even if using the same brand as before you may have developed a bad reaction, or they may have changed their ingredients.
How long can a tampon be used for?
To avoid Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), it is recommended that tampons should be changed every 4-6 hours or more often if necessary. Also recommended: use the correct absorbency and alternate between pads and tampons.
How long can you leave a tampon in for?
Tampons should be changed every 4-6 hours.
Some tampon companies say up to 8 hours maximum but this isn't safe - the longer you leave tampons the longer you give bacteria to multiply, also if you go this long it suggests you're using too high an absorbency - companies do this to make their products seem more convenient
If the tampon leaks within 1-2 hours you can change and it's safe to use the next absorbency up but just remember if the tampon isn't saturated after 4-6 hours switch down to a lower absorbency again or switch to pads. Leaving too long or using too high an absorbency increases TSS risks.
Do tampons stop you from bleeding in water?
No because the water wash it away, most people believe this is so, because they have not seen blood. But I'm a master degree doctor. The water never stops moving. Your ministration never stops flowing until your ministration period is over.
How can you get out a tampon with no string?
You don't need a string to remove a tampon, strings are simply added to some tampons to make removal easier - many cloth tampons, sponge tampons, and soft tampons don't have strings. There are also other items like menstrual cups, softcups, diaphragms, and caps that don't require strings.
All you need to do is insert your [clean] fingers vaginally and pull the tampon out by grabbing the tampon itself. If you struggle to remove the tampon be sure to relax, get into a squatting position and push down on vaginal muscles to move the tampon closer to the vaginal opening.
If you still can't remove the tampon ask a friend/family member to help you, or you'll need to go to your doctor as leaving a tampon in over 4-6 hours increases risks of infections and TSS.
What if a tampon is stuck after having a leep procedure?
Wearing a tampon after the LEEP procedure will irritate the site where the skin was removed, possibly removing the clot and causing bleeding. The end of the tampon will interfere with your body's ability to heal the site. Use pads for a couple of weeks until the skin heals.
What are the chances of breaking your hymen inserting a tampon?
Very low. The hymen doesn't cover much of the vagina so normally there's enough room for something small like fingers or tampons to fit through, the hymen is also flexible so can stretch to accommodate larger things such as speculums or penises. The hymen does not 'break', it can tear but often only if penetration is rough or forced. Even if the hymen does tear it's not a problem as it serves no function, means nothing, and doesn't normally cause any pain.
Can you still use tampons if you have ovarian cysts?
Yes you can, however, the doctor does recommend that you avoid wearing them at night. If you do use them do not be surprised if they clot wraps around the tampon, or comes out when you go to the restroom. Tampons tend to be more clean, and less aggravating. You can always try it, and if you don't like it stop then. It would probably be best to do it on a Saturday or when you do not need to go anywhere that way you can get used to it. Good Luck!!
What hole does a tampon go in?
Tampons go into the vagina - the opening between your anus and your urethra, where discharge and blood comes from. However if you are unaware of your anatomy it's not a good idea to use tampons, learn more about anatomy and sanitary options first.
Can tampons get stuck inside you?
yes, but it is not very likely usually only if you are going hardcore. if you are worried try a second method such as birth control or something like that. talk to your obgyn about the most effective safe sex methods.
How long after removing a tampon would you know that it was not toxic shock?
It's a myth that TSS only occurs from leaving tampons in too long - most TSS cases occur within the first 2-3 hours of use.
Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) occurs when certain bacteria multiply and start creating TSST-1 toxins, these toxins enter the body via vaginal tissues and damage caused by tampon use, if you lack immunity to TSST-1 toxins they overwhelm the immune system leading to TSS. If a person lacks immunity to TSST-1 toxins then the effect is immediate, these toxins don't wait until X number of hours to take effect.
If a tampon is left too long this increases the likelihood of bacteria responsible for TSS multiplying to unsafe levels and starting to produce TSST-1 toxins, likelihood of TSST-1 toxins accumulating to unsafe levels, and of TSST-1 toxins entering your body and having a serious effect. There is no specific time-frame when you may contract TSS or start to see symptoms.
