What is the next elder scrolls game?
We probably won’t get the next game in the Elder Scrolls series until at least 2021.
The game series, which has spawned massive hits including Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim is notorious for long development times. Skyrim, the fifth game in the main series, was released in 2011. It quickly broke sales records, and soon after, fans started clamoring for a sequel.
Bethesda, the series’ publisher, teased The Elder Scrolls VI at their E3 2018 press conference, so we know the game’s in development. However, they did not provide a release date, and by all accounts, the company is currently focused on a science fiction roleplaying game called Starfield.
"I would say Elder Scrolls VI is in pre-production, and Starfield is in production. It's a game we've been making for a while," Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard told Gameslice in June 2018. "Starfield is playable. Elder Scrolls VI, not in that way yet."
A year later, not much had changed. Howard gave another interview to IGN, in which he indicated that Elder Scrolls VI was years away.
"I think everyone should be very patient," he said. "The gap in between is going to be long, it already is. On one hand, I think it's good to miss things. I think that makes people come to it with really, really fresh eyes, and I think when they eventually—eventually—see the game and what we have in mind, they'll understand the gap more in terms of technology and what we want it to do."
Howard also indicated that the game’s teaser trailer contains some hints about the next Elder Scrolls. In the clip, the camera moves through fog, eventually revealing a lush forested area next to a coast. That setting would make for an interesting new direction for the game series, given that Skyrim took place in mostly harsh, snow-covered environments.
Unfortunately, we probably won’t get any new details anytime soon—at least until Starfield hits stores, which likely won’t happen any sooner than late 2020.

You pick a race and there would be racial advantages, skills to grow, skill constellations, combat, stealth, and magic skills. The shouts and other powers, diseases, lycanthropy, vampirism, crime and punishment, alchemy, crafting, enchanting, and smithing makes as though you're in a new life and world. The locations skyrim has such as dungeons and other locations are incredible and the graphics shows the reason why it's the game of the year.
