Actually, Who ever wrote that last answer isn't very knowledgeable. Time can end...and it eventually will. But if you're asking weather or not it'll end while you're sleeping then start up again when you wake up then the answer is no. The only time that time will stop is when the world does, but we wouldn't need time then would we?
Why do some people believe the world will end on December 21 2012?
The world isn't going to end on December 21, 2012. They just say that to get money and to scare people. Also there is no end to the world, there will be an end to "this life" when Jesus comes back and that day no one knows except the Father. (NKJV Matthew 24:36). That same day is also known as judgement day. So Jesus himself doesn't know when He's coming back. The righteous dead and living will be brought up to heaven when He comes back and living wicked are struck dead by Jesus who has no pleasure in doing it.
Also if December 21st 2012 was judgement day, none of us would be here right now.
