The Kite Runner

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini is about the friendship between two boys, Amir and Hassan. It is about the sacrifices, the betrayal and the redemption. This book is utterly beautiful, and sad and about the sins, the mistakes people make but how they make up for it out of sacrifice and love. I don't want to give away any detail because reading it is the best way to find out what the book is about, reading this book would be a great thing to do... :D

The secret kept by Baba, Rahim Khan and Ali, was that of Hassan and Amir being brothers. An obvious one is Amir's secret that he witnessed what happened to Hassan and did nothing. I'm sure theres more, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Amir underestimates Hassan's loyalty and selflessness, believing that their friendship is one-sided and that Hassan is lesser than him due to his low socio-economic status as a Hazara. Amir also underestimates Hassan's courage and strength, not realizing the depths of his character until a pivotal moment in their lives.

The pomegranate tree in the backyard of Amir's childhood home in "The Kite Runner" is inscribed with the words "Amir and Hassan, the sultans of Kabul". These words symbolize Amir and Hassan's close friendship and the happier times they shared as children before their lives were changed by betrayal and violence.

Amir and Soraya both share a complex relationship with their fathers which influences their actions and decisions throughout the novel. They both also struggle with feelings of guilt and redemption for past actions they have taken. Additionally, they both deeply value the power of storytelling and use it as a way to connect with others and create meaning in their lives.

Yes, to some extent. During his childhood, he did want to become a writer but knew it wasn't entirely what his father wanted him to do. The desire to write grew until he was able to oppose his father, after they had moved to America, and go to college to become a writer.

Because, even after everything that happened, he still feels loyalty towards Amir. It is the final sacrifice he makes for him. Also Hassan knew that if Baba found out Amir lied, he was be in serious trouble.
