What are the Lion King songs?

The Lion King (the first movie in the series) is basically about a lion prince's ascension into his rightful role as the "Lion King". Mufasa, who at the time is the current lion king, tells his brother Scar about his new born son. Scar is mad because he wants to be king, but he cannot for as long as Mufasa and his son is alive. Scar then kills Mufasa by means of stampeding wildebeests and makes Mufasa's cub (whose name is Simba) think that he, himself caused his father's death. He felt bad and is told to run away by Scar to avoid a harsh punishment of death. This is only a trick by Scar to have Simba killed though. He manages to not be killed and is found by two other animals; a warthog and a meerkat whose names are Timon(meerkat) and Pumbaa(warthog). Then there are things he learns like how to catch grub(bugs and critters) to survive and a song. Then his lioness friend, Nala, finds him and tells him to come back cause he is the rightful king and their homeland is trashed by Scar and his minions. The ending consists of Simba fighting his uncle Scar, and though almost being killed, he manges to avenge his father's death by ultimately killing Scar and getting rid of his minions. Their homeland, in turn, goes back to being peaceful.

Will there be a Lion King 5?

No. There isn't a third movie in the Lion King story, so there naturally can't be a fourth movie in the series.

The release that was titled The Lion King 3 was simply the international title of the direct-to-video feature, The Lion King 1½ from 2004, so while it is technically a third movie it does not in any way advance the story from The Lion King one & two.

  • Most officially it's called "Fluffy" and given no gender, as done by its liteal creators on the movie's commentary track in 1995 on the Laserisc release and in 2003 on the DVD release.
  • Its most official real name is Kiara, as stated by Disney's only official sequel movie's content, and its official trailer, and one of its animators in a magazine interview.
  • In the book universe in a series called 'The Lion King: Six New Adventures' it's called Kopa, but hence the commentary track of the film and the sequel film's production, that name applies only to the few books in the book universe, Disney having officially seperated it from the movie universe.
  • In the book universe there are also books that contradict the Six New Adventures, so it's not Kopa even in all the books but only in the Six New Adventures.

In the end, at the Pride Lands, Simba sees Scar hit Sarabi and confronts him, but Scar taunts Simba over his "part" in Mufasa's death. However, when Scar pushes Simba to the edge of Pride Rock, he reveals that he killed Mufasa. Enraged, Simba roars back up and forces Scar to reveal the truth to the pride. Timon, Pumbaa, Rafiki, Zazu, and the lionesses fend off the hyenas while Scar, attempting to escape, is cornered by Simba at the top of Pride Rock. Scar begs Simba for mercy, saying he is family and placing the blame on the hyenas. Simba says he does not believe Scar anymore but spares his life and commands him to forever leave the Pride Lands. Scar meekly walks past him, but then attacks his nephew. After a fierce fight, Simba throws his uncle off Pride Rock. Scar survives the fall, but is attacked and eaten alive by the hyenas, who overheard his attempt to betray them.

With Scar and the hyenas gone, Simba ascends to the top of Pride Rock and takes over the kingdom as the rain falls again. Sometime later, with Pride Rock restored to its former glory, Simba looks down happily at his kingdom with Nala, Timon, and Pumbaa by his side; Rafiki presents Simba and Nala's newborn cub to the inhabitants of the Pride Lands, and the "circle of life" continues.

Are there any subplots on The Lion King?

I may not be interpreting "episodes" correctly however it may interest you that the Lion King holds many strong parallels to Shakespeare's "Hamlet".

If you are not familiar with Hamlet yet, I recommend you read the plot summary available on spark notes.

Hamlet

Hamlet King of Denmark: Killed by his brother Claudius

Claudius: Killed his brother and married his widow to become King.

Gertrude: Married Claudius after death of her husband (unaware that it was a murder)

Hamlet the Younger: Broods and withdraws because of grief

The Ghost: Ghost of Hamlet the Elder visits his son to tell him of the betrayal and murder. Only when his murderer is dead will the ghost be at peace and he beseeches Hamlet the Younger to discover the sinister plots that have come to pass.

The Lion King

Mufasa: Killed by his brother Scar

Scar: Killed his brother and is close to Sirabi, the widow of Mufasa

Sirabi: Doesn't know that Scar murdered her husband and is obligated to him as the Alpha Female

Simba: Runs away driven by guilt and grief

Mufasa's Ghost: Tells Simba to "Remember who [he is]" and motivates him to return to pride rock to restore balance

There are more in-depth analysis' available however I hope you found this comparison useful. Best of luck!

Does kiara have any sisters in the Lion King?

Canonically, Kiara doesn't have a brother in The Lion King II. Kopa would be considered Kiara's brother, but he doesn't appear or is directly mentioned in the film as he only exists in The Lion King: Six New Adventures and is never spoken of again.

Who is kopa in the Lion King 2?

Nothing happened to him. He doesn't exist in The Lion King movie series but only in The Lion King: Six New Adventures. It is official by the first film's makers that the cub at the end of the first film is not Kopa. It wasn't given a gender or a real name in its own film as they say this on the commentary track on the DVD. And this results in its only official gender and name being the girl Kiara from the only official movie sequel. Thus, nothing happens to Kopa as he never existed in the movie universe.

Who played Hyena characters in the Lion King?

They are named Shenzi, Banzai and Ed. Ed doesn't speak, just slurs and laughs maniacally. Shenzi is the "leader" of the group, as the female hyenas usually are. In the story, they try to help Scar become King of the Pridelands by trying to kill Mufasa and Simba. The hyenas are rather stupid, and fail to kill Simba. They pretend they have killed Simba, so Scar does not punish them brutally. The hyenas are good characters, but very villainous....
