When was 'The Vampire Diaries' first aired?
The first three books of the series were published in 1991, but the fourth book was published in 1992. L. J Smith's newest book " The Return : Nightfall " was released to the public Feb. 10, 2009. Supposedly there are supposed to be two more books called : The Return : Shadow Souls " and " The Return : Midnight ", due to be released in 2010 or 2011.

What happens in vampire diaries season 2 episode 9?
A great storm approaches Mystic Falls, blocking out rays from the sun and making the roads dangerous. Jeremy keeps trying to convince Anna to turn him, but she refuses. While out hunting, Stefan is captured by Frederic and his friends, who intend to torture him before killing him. Damon goes to the house, realizing he cannot get in because the owner of the house has been compelled not to invite him in. Damon and Elena therefore convince Alaric to work with them to help Stefan. Damon, however, will not allow Elena to come into the house with them. Pearl meets Mayor Lockwood in the Mystic Grill. Meanwhile, Matt is angry with his mother Kelly, but is fearful of pressuring her too much, afraid that she may leave again. Alaric enters the vampire house under the pretext of borrowing the phone. Damon kills the human living in the house, thus enabling him to enter. After her car breaks down in the storm, Caroline discovers the remains of Vicki Donovan in the woods. Matt and Kelly are heartbroken by the news. Damon and Elena rescue Stefan, but a fight erupts in which Damon and Alaric kill most of the vampires. Frederick comes after Elena and Stefan, wounding Stefan badly. Elena has to feed Stefan her blood to revive him. Stefan briefly loses control of himself. Anna agrees to turn Jeremy, but she then figures out (and he does not deny) that the real reason he wanted to be turned was to be with Vicki, whom he now knows to be dead. Damon discovers that Stefan has lost control of his bloodlust, drinking large amounts of human blood from Damon's stores of IV bags.
Will Elena turn in The Vampire Diaries?
I'm not really sure because it's only the second season of the TV SHOW . But up till Episode Four of Season Two ; they find out that Isobel , Elena's mother , was turned into a vampire by Damon . Caroline was killed by Katherine while she had Damon's blood in her system and was turned by drinking a blood bag at the hospital . Vicki Donavon was turned by Damon because of his thirst and boredom but was killed by Stefen . That's pretty much it . . . ! Oh , and Jeremy , Elena's brother tries to become a vampire but fails .
In the book series however , Elena becomes a vampire and then dies and then comes back to life as a half angel thingg .

Backstory
In the episode Katerina, we learn about the beginnings of the vampire series fans know as Katherine Pierce. She was born Katerina Petrova in 1473, to a wealthy Bulgarian family. At the age of 16 or 17, she became pregnant with an illegitimate child, thus bringing shame to her family. They took the child and disowned Katerina, banishing her from her home in disgrace. She fled to England, and assimilated herself. In 1492, she met a man named Trevor who introduced her to Lord Elijah Mikelson. Lord Elijah introduced her to his brother, Lord Niklaus Mikelson. Katerina became attracted to Lord Niklaus, but later became fearful of him when she learned he was cursed to be a vampire-werewolf hybrid and wanted to kill her to use her blood to break the curse. When she told Trevor, he told her about a woman named Rose who could help her and distracted the Mikelson brothers to ensure her safe escape. As she fled, she took a moonstone which was very important to Klaus, and an integral part of breaking the curse. Instead of helping Katerina, Rose locked her in a room and notified Klaus of her whereabouts. A desperate Katerina tried to kill herself by stabbing and failed. Rose healed her by feeding Katerina some of her blood, but in a last ditch effort, Katerina hung herself and died with Rose's blood in her system, becoming a vampire in transition. In the midst of trying to save herself she completed her transition by feeding on an old woman. She then tried to return home, but found her entire family slaughtered at the hands of Niklaus. It is unknown exactly what happened in her life from this point until she resurfaced in 1864, with her new friends, the witch Emily Bennett who owed her a debt for saving her family, and Pearl, a woman who worked as an apothecary, along with Pearl's daughter, Anna.
Relationship with the Salvatores
In 1864, Katerina, having renamed herself Katherine Pierce, showed up at the home of Giuseppe Salvatore in Mystic Falls, Virginia. She claimed to be an orphan who had lost her parents in a fire, and was welcomed into his home, where she met and fell in love with his youngest son, Stefan Salvatore. When Stefan's brother Damon returned home after deserting the Civil War, Katherine instantly took a liking to him as well, developing physical relationships with them both but never telling them about each other. She somehow convinced both brothers to drink her blood during these relationships. Stefan was later used against her when Giuseppe forced his son to drink vervain and Katherine bit him, weakening her. Katherine was captured and taken to be killed, but Stefan and Damon went to save her, and were killed in the process, forcing them into transition. Katherine promised Stefan she would escape and find him. She kept an eye on him through the decades.
Throughout the Series
Katherine was the main antagonist (albeit indirectly) for most of seasons 1-2. She has allied with and subsequently killed many people in her quest to stay "alive". Notable kills include her doppelgänger Elena Gilbert's biological father, and Elena's best friend Caroline Forbes.
In season 3-4, she was not featured as much, though she still continued to get in the way, especially when it was revealed that there was a cure for vampirism. At the end of season 4, Katherine engaged in a fight with Elena, during which Elena shoved a pill containing the cure into Katherine's mouth and forced her to bite it.
As season 5 began in October 2013, viewers were shown that the cure did indeed work, as Katherine is seen complaining about being human. It is unknown if she will remain human.
Is season 3 the final vampire diaries series?
It was the last episode aired before the February/March hiatus, but the season returns on April 7th with the last 6 episodes.

He used to but now he just hates her because she played him.Also she left him when he needed her most but Katherine loves Stephen. I don't know why but everyone seem to love Stephen instead of Damon who is the one that always does the job in order to protect everyone.

Does Elena become a vampire in vampire dairies the movie?
In The Vampire Diaries book series ("The Struggle") by L.J. Smith, Damon gives Elena his blood. Later in the novel Elena gets into a car accident, dies, and becomes a vampire.
In the TVD television series Elena has not been turned into a vampire...yet. She wants to be with Stefan, but they haven't discussed how this will happen. It's assumed by the fans that eventually Elena will become a vampire.

elena turns into a vampire in the book "the fury" then katherine comes and alll.....well it ends with elena being a vampire with stefan being one too and meredith (elena's friend) is a smaller version of vampires. she has small fangs and little power etc.. bonnie being a witch , and DAMON TURNS BACK INTO A HUMAN and then later on in one of the books , dies while trying to save bonnie....the ending is like with everyone going back to normal and they have their memory erased of all the bad things and mr.tanner comes back to life and so do the others but no one forgets about vampires..and ah tyler smallwood turns out to be a vamprie and meredith also happens to find her twin or maybe younger brother....
Does Elena and stefan ever sleep together from vampire diaries?
in the books vampires are incapable of feeling sexual desires. whenever they are attracted to someone they tend to exchange blood with this someone rather than make love.
so until now (book 7) nothing happened between Elena/ Damon or Elena/ Stefan.
however, as Elena was reincarnated, her new blood is with special powers that it is said to arise sexual desires in vampires. so i guess we will have to wait and see.

i have read all the books that have come out and In my opinion the Vampire Diaries is way better than the Twilight Saga.
The first 4 books are really good because you learn all about the characters and Elena and Stefan's relationship grows.
but books 4 and 5 ( book six is not out in the UK yet) are amazing because Stefan vanishes and the relationship between Elena and Stefan's brother Damon grows and reaches a new level. so because one girl fall for 2 brothers and the brothers fall for her. that is why i think the Vampire Diaries is much better than Twilight any day.
Overall, all of the Vampire Diaries books are really good but to understand them you need to have read all of the books.

a lot people think it's because Katherine truly loves stefan. i disagree because at the end of season 1, Katherine knew that both stefan and Damon could have died when all the other vampires from the tomb were going to be killed. if she really did love stefan, she would have made sure he was safe.
