As well as the ill-fated short voyage, there was a romance between two of the passengers. One survived and the other froze to death in the sea holding onto the door where his friend was clinging.
Were there enough life jackets for everybody on the titanic?
Not even close. She had 20 but mathematically, to fit everyone, she would have needed 51.
There were not enough by half. Between the 20 lifeboats installed, there were seats enough for 1,178 people. As it is, there were 2,208 passengers and crew but she was still sailing light. The disparity between her capacity and lifeboat capacity was 2.369.
In the time of Titanic the number of lifeboats a ship needed was based on the tonnage. Titanic could legally sail with only enough lifeboat space for less that a third of the passengers. Titanic had enough lifeboats for a bit less than half so Titanic had more lifeboats that the law said she needed.
The reason ships did not need lifeboats for all the passengers is because the transatlantic routes were heavily shipped and it was thought that a ship would always be close by and lifeboats would be used to ferry people between the two ships.
The Titanic did have space for another row of lifeboats because the directors of the White Star Line did think that the law on the amount of lifeboats was going to be updated so they put in new davits that could hold another row of lifeboats so if it was updated they could keep the davits that were already on the ship.
no they did not so it was women and children first.
Who did they evacuation first on the Titanic?
the women and children where loaded onto the lifeboats first and the men all waited to last and some of te first class men went in the last few life boats.
Why didn't everybody survive the TITANIC?
There were not enough lifeboats for everyone on board. They were going by the old rules and had just enough lifeboats, (and two collapsible life rafts), on board. The old rules, made before 1912, said how many lifeboats a ship the size of Titanic had to have, and in order to save money, they followed the rules and did not have more than what was required. Most of the people who did not get on a lifeboat, froze to death in the icy waters, although they remained afloat, held up by their life preservers. After the Titanic sank, the new rule was, a ship had to have enough lifeboats to carry everyone on board; passengers and crew included.
Yes I agree with the answer above. The RMS Titanic didn't have no where near enough life boats on board of what was named 'the unsinkable' ship. In total out of 2,200 people on board of the Titanic, 1,517 people died when the ship was sinking. The RMS Titanic only had on board sixteen lifeboats and this included four inflatable ones. Each of these boats could hold 40 to 60 people. And yet none of them were filled. Life boat 1 left with only twelve people on. It could hold 40 people in total. Everybody who didn't get a boat was left to die. Wether they jumped in the water or died with the sinking of the ship, they died a tragic death. Thousands of people died of hypertermia, there bulky life jackets keeping them aflaot. Later they were found dead and pulled aboard another boat to be numbered and returned home to be buried.
What alarmed captain smith the most when he toured the Titanic just after hitting the iceberg?
At first they even didn't realize what had happened, well, actually they just thought they crashed (but they actually "killed" the ship). After he was told that the ship was going to sink in 2 hours he only told Titanic's Staff about it, and that the staff must go and tell everyone to put their life jackets on (not telling them why). A couple of minutes later, everyone was in the upper deck trying to see what was happening, until it happened.
Who was the sailor of the Titanic?
I'm pretty sure you mean the Captain of the ship.
The Captain of the RMS Titanic was Edward James Smith. He had planned to retire after Titanic was seen safely across, but he stayed with the ship. As the saying goes, "The Captain goes down with his ship"; E.J. remained on Titanic, like the honorable man he was. He was last seen, according to a variety of accounts, on the bridge, watching the disaster.
In my own opinion, I do believe he was blaming himself for the tragedy that had unfolded.
What were the name of the ships that helped the titanic?
The ship that rescued most of the survivors was the RMS Carpathia, sailing from New York to Europe (ultimately Hungary), which returned them to New York after their rescue.
3 What accident nearly happened when Titanic left the docks?
Because of Titanic's enormous size, its wake (ie. the suction created by displaced water as a ship moves) was so strong that it caused the smaller ship New York to break away from its moorings. It was pulled closer and closer, and was around four feet away from the Titanic before a tugboat managed to drag the New York to safety. This delayed the Titanic's departure for about an hour before it left for Cherbourg, France.
How does Mahjong Titans Score?
You play Mahjong Titans like Mahjong Poculis, by selecting matching tiles to make them disappear. When there are no more tiles, the game is won.
The only constraint is that a tile has to be on borders and without any tile above to be a candidate for selection. The left or right part of a tile has be to be entirely available to make it selectable.
There are also two exceptions: flowers and seasons doesn't have to match to be associated. Any flower can be associated with another flower and any season can be associated with another season.
To gain a lot of points, you start off by selecting two 1 of a given family, then two 2, then two 3 and so on. You can also select continuously the four 1s or the four 2s... of a given family.
Enjoy!

How did the captain and crew react during the titanic?
People thought that they wouldn't need them because they were under the impression that the ship was invincible. Lifeboats at the time were seen as a ferry from a foundering ship to a rescue ship. The number of boats a ship should have at the time was based on the size of the ship; not how many people it can carry at once. Titanic had 20 boats, which was four more than the legal minimum around that time.

How many life rafts where on the titanic?
There were 16 rigid wooden lifeboats, each one of which was capable of holding 60 people, plus four collapsible Englehardt boats, which had rigid keels and waterproof canvas sides that could be raised and propped up with wooden stakes.
None of the latter were salvaged, and presumably eventually sank or ended up just drifting about the ocean until they either rotted to pieces or washed up on some remote shore. All but three of the rigids were salvaged by the rescue ship RMS Carpathia, the three that weren't were set adrift- however, one of these was upturned and another one half-sunken anyway, so they themselves probably ended up going down in rough weather.
