One of the founding members wanted the band to have a 'romantic' feel, and a train embodies that. At first, the band as a whole hated the name Train, but it eventually stuck.

Does the band Train worship the devil?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It doesn't sound like it. Although some song lyrics sound Christian in nature, they have stated they were more inspired by world events. Some interview responses actually suggest that they tend to lean more towards an atheist or agnostic viewpoint.

The lead singer, Patrick Monahan was asked if he was spiritual. His answer was: "Probably. I think we all are. We all have faith in something, and my faith is in people."

What does 'traitor to the crown' mean?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It means that someone is a traitor (disloyal) to "the Crown", which is legalistic jargon for the British government. Originally, it meant the monarch (King or Queen).

The song Banna Strand is about an Irishman who was accused of being a traitor to the Crown (back when Ireland was part of the UK).

In Shakespeare's historical play "Henry VI Part 3", both the late Earl of Salisbury (father of the Earl of Warwick) and the Duke of Exeter are accused of being traitors to the Crown, the latter because of his allegiance to King Henry VI, whom the Earl of Warwick calls a usurper. In this context, the Crown is being used to represent whom the speaker regards as the "true" or "rightful" King, rather than the ruling one.
