Can you choose which state to go to for air National Guard?

To join a National Guard unit in a state other than yours, there generally has to be a reason. If you have an occupation which isn't available in your state (or for which no slots are open), that can be considered justification. If you live on a state line, and the nearest unit is in the neighbouring state, that can be considered justification.

You may have to go to a bit of an extreme. I lived in North Carolina and wanted to join the Virginia (Army) National Guard. I ended up having to rent a P.O. Box in Fredericksburg and getting a Virginia drivers licence.

Ultimately, however, it really comes down to that unit's willingness to accept you. The best thing you can do is call whatever unit it is you want to join, and get their take on it.

Is title 10 national guard called to serve active duty during war time?

The other poster is correct. However, more specifically, National Guard service members are Title 32 under almost all normal circumstances. When called to federal service, these Soldiers are ordered to, and become Title 10 active duty. When they complete that tour of duty, they are discharged and reinstated to Title 10.

On another note, Reservists are always Title 10, and their AGR members can be moved anywhere within the Reserve’s system. National Guard AGR can only be moved within their own state, as their first authority is to the state and its governor.

I know that’s a lot, sorry if it was too long.

What is color retention?

Color retention refers to the ability of a material, such as fabric or paint, to maintain its original color over time, even when exposed to factors like sunlight, washing, or environmental conditions. High color retention means that the color remains vibrant and does not fade or change significantly. This property is often important in industries like textiles and coatings, where long-lasting appearance is desired. Factors affecting color retention include the quality of the pigments used and the methods of application or treatment.

Can an officer in the Army National Guard wear the ribbons and medals that he or she was awarded if they were prior service active duty?

Yes. However, there are certain ribbons or medals that officers do not wear which may have been awarded and worn as a prior enlisted soldier. The good conduct medal is an example; it is assumed, and expected, that all officers are of good character and always display good conduct.

Is there a US Army National Guard in the Philippines?

Can you send cookies to someone in the army National Guard basic training?

There is no Army National Guard Basic Training - they all go to Army BCT or OSUT. That being said, you can send them - that part isn't an issue. Whether they're allowed to actually have the cookies or not is a different matter. Depending on their Drill Sergeant and their unit, they may either not be allowed to have them, or only be allowed to have them if there's enough to share with their entire platoon.

Better to just save the cookies for when they get back.

How can I join the army National Guard if I do not pass the test?

Which test are you talking about? The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)? The physical fitness test? The drug test? The physical screening?

In the case of the ASVAB, you only need to get a 31 on your General Technical... it'll limit occupations available to you, but you'll be able to get in. Trust me, I've served with some pretty dimwitted people during my time in. Getting a 31 GT on the ASVAB isn't difficult.

As for the PT test, try to work out on your own time. If you can't pass it now, don't sweat it - you'll get plenty of opportunity to work on your PT score during Basic Combat Training. Once you've completed that, however, it's going to be on you to maintain your state of physical shape - unlike the active military, you'll be living the civilian life when you're not doing your UTAs, so it's not like your company will be formed up every morning to do PT.

The drug test... if you can't pass that, I'd personally prefer you not serve in any branch of the military.

The physical screening... well, that's going to depend on what the problem is. Some things, you can work through. Some things, not so much.

I know a couple people who weren't able to enlist, but were able to get Civil Service jobs supporting the military. Might want to consider that if all other options are out.
