I disagree with the above. I am a vampire, And vampires are not immortal, that is bullcrap. And no one can be immortal, duh. Now vampires can feel pain, but it is less. For example, before I was turned into a vampire, I got hurt very easily. Now, because I am a vampire, it doesn't hurt as much. If I did something that hurt me it used to hurt for like 10 minutes, and now it hurts for like 1 second. I mean I feel the pain, but it doesn't hurt as much as normal and it goes away quickly. depending on the vampire you're talking about, edward can read people mind's (except of for Bella), Alice can see the future, jasper can set the mood of a room (ie make people who are mad happy), renesmee can touch people and show them things, and Bella can prevent people from mental attacks (ie prevent Jane from hurting you with her mind). there are other talents, but those are the main ones discussed in the books.
