It makes the whole genre more intriguing. No doubt, there are people who may be interested in drinking others blood, I am not sure they could be described as a vampire, by established standards in the world of books and storytelling.

well it depends on how hungry they are, for example if they haven't had blood for about 2-3 months then they could drink all of your blood. but if they are just feasting from person to person or if the vampire likes the human, then he/she will "claim" him/her, meaning that they will bite the human but not enough to turn them into even a half vampire.
