Your rifle was made for Wards by Mossberg, and is their Model 26B/ 26C. They were made between 1938-1941.

The Western Field 550 series were produced by Mossberg for Montgomery Ward. Basically it's a Mossberg 500 and as far as my research and experience with them goes (I own a 550AB in 12 GA and a 550ED in 410 GA), all parts are interchangeable though I've only ever put a Mossberg barrel on my Western Field.

I think your shotgun was made for Montgomery Ward by Savage as their Model 620A. SOME parts are available from Numrich. These were made starting in the mid 50's, and are about $150, depending on condition.

If your 22 rifle is a bolt action single shot, it is likely a Mossberg Model 25. That rifle was made from 1935-1936, and continued as the 25A to 1938. Yes it is a single shot bolt 22.. THANKS

as far as i know yes, i have seen both receiver ends of both barrels and they are almost identical

Your shotgun was made for Montgomery Wards (marked with their brand- Westernfield) by Mossberg, and is their model 550. As far as age- no way to tell. IF your shotgun does not have a serial number, it would have been made prior to 1968.

Note to previous poster- Sears did not use the Westernfield brand- that belonged to Montgomery Wards. They DID use J.C. Higgins and Ted Williams as brand names.

It's pretty old. And I'll give you 100 bucks for it.

There are many Youtube videos showing the disassembly and reassembly of the Mossberg 500, which is the same gun, more or less. I took my M550ar apart tonight to replace the forearm, and I used youtube as a reference. The forearm on the Mossberg used two slides and the Westernfield only uses one, but every other part of the assembly is about the same with only minor differences.

Western Field was a store name used by Montgomery Wards. The M865 was most likely manufactured by Mossberg and relabeled from the Mossberg Model 402. The rifle was a lever action chambered in 22 short, long and long rifle. It was made 1961 to 1971 and value would be somewhere between $85 and $250 depending on condition.
