Selena Gomez started acting in 2002 when she was in Barney & Friends. Years later, she attempted a Disney career. She auditioned for two lead roles in two attempted spinoffs, the first of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and the second of Lizzie McGuire. Both series were never picked up, but Disney liked Selena so much that they worked on a show for her to star in, as she was Disney's first Latina star. Selena Gomez then landed the lead role in Wizards of Waverly Place in 2007.

As Disney does with all of their stars, they make them pursue a music career. When she was first approached, Selena actually refused because she wanted a band. However, she did record the theme song for the show. She also recorded songs for DisneyMania 6, the film Tinker Bell, and her staring movie Another Cinderella Story.

It wasn't until 2009 that Selena Gomez & the Scene released their debut album. They released their sophmore album in 2010 and their third album in 2011. All these albums charted at #9, #4, and #3 respectively. As of 2012, the band went into a hiatus as Selena Gomez has been working on pursuing a solo career.

In 2013, Selena debuted her debut single as a solo artist, Come & Get It. The song peaked at #6 on the Billboards and performed much more successfully than any of her work with The Scene. She then released her second single a few months later, Slow Down, which has performed moderately, peaking at #70. She plans to release her debut album in July 2013, which will most likely perform better than her previous work as well.

Since Selena didn't officially release an album until 2009, her music career would be believed to have taken off when she was seventeen.

It wasn't "cancelled" per-say, It wasn't due to bad ratings or cast strife, The Disney Channel simply decided to end the show after four seasons.

From what I can find, Disney typically doesn't let their shows go on for too long.

Wizards of Waverly place is about three wanna be wizards teaming up.I least that's what the comercials say,so its about them knowing spells and stuff but Justin who is David Henrie is cute!And thinks hes going to win the wizard competition which bugs me hes smart yeah but it doesnt mean Alex who is Selena Gomez isn't going to win.

It is based on the Disney Channel TV series of the same name, which produced a TV movie airing August 28, 2009. The object is to recover the Stone of Dreams, an artifact which is also sought in the TV movie. Here's the guide: ---------------------------------- Go on any main street. Go right until you see a pile of rocks with a girl next to it. Talk to her and then go inside. Go to the right. You will see a boy there. Click on him and he will ask you which wand to choose. It doesn't matter which one you choose. Go right of the boy and go out the opening. You will see a spider bouncing up and down. Avoid them, because they willl knock you to the ground. When you are past the spider, click on the glowing vine. It is curled up. Actually its sparkling. A vine will grow up. Climb up it. Step left on top of the tree top. Make sure you do not get touched by a spider or you will fall back to the ground. Jump up and right to another treetop. Jump across until you get to a grassy slope. Climb to the top. Go right. Click on the rock pile that is sparkling. They will make a path in front of you. Go across it, jumping from rock to rock. Enter the cave to the right. Go right until you are blocked by a pillar. Click on it and it will lift. Go to the right and down the rocks past the spider. Click on the next pillar and it will sink. Jump on top of it and jump up again, to the right. Go right, avoiding the spiders. Continue to go right until you see a purple gem. Jump up and get it. This is the fabled Stone of Dreams! The cave will shake and the ceiling will start to crumble. The prompt "RUN!" is displayed. (Although you don't have to.) When you get outside, run to the path and jump across. Don't worry if one of the stones falls, because spider webs will catch you and you can jump to the right, and then climb up the ledge. When you get to the other side, go left. Jump down. You can fall to the ground now, it doesn't matter. Get back to the entrance and go inside. (to the left) Give the Stone of Dreams to the guy. You will get a "family spell book" and "family wand". Congratulations! You have finished the mission! -----------------------

Sorry but I just watched the finale and yes, Alex wins but not at first. Justin comes through the gates first but Alex helped him out of some tree roots. She becomes the family wizard, and then Professor Crumbs retires, gives his spot to Justin. So Alex is family wizard and Justin is the Professor of Wiztec, so what about Max? Jerry and Teresa decide to give Max the sub shop. He seems confused at first but then, because he is max, is really excited that he gets the sub shop! Sorry if i spoiled it!
