There is no activation code/verification link. Administrators are responsible for account activations, which helps keep the community forums clear of SPAM. Please be patient - your account should be activated within 24-48 hours of registering. After your wolf and his or her mate has had pups, you'll need to train, defend and grow your puppies while keeping them fed.

Training your pups involves keeping them within the vicinity of your den. Pick up a wandering puppy if he/she gets too far from your den and drop them nearby. This will increase the blue bar shown on the heads-up display. You can also howl to gain affinity. Once this bar is filled, you will progress to the next mission.

Try restarting the application and retrying or uninstalling and reinstalling WolfQuest first. If this solves nothing, check your key bindings- you can do this in the configuration window that appears when you open the application, before selecting the screen resolution and graphics settings. Simply click the "input" tab and locate the bound key for the desired action -- R for rest, or Z for sleep -- and change the configuration, then launch the game and test to see if the newly defined key bindings work.

Remember, sleeping (Z key) is exclusive to single player only; resting (R key) should work in both single player and multiplayer.

While the WolfQuest Team are currently in the process of developing an app for iPad and (later) Android/Kindle devices, the app is unlikely to be officially supported on smartphones and other non-tablet portable devices. If the game does work on smartphones, expect some issues with the graphical interface. There is no estimated release date as of now and further specifications and supported models have yet to be confirmed.

"Alas" means female. "Led" means male. Both are often used to distinguish gender.

Mates and related references are not allowed in multiplayer - they are only used in single player due to the game being educationally-focused. Everyone who plays multiplayer is advised to avoid their use so as not to be warned or banned.

Older versions are unsupported due to the bugs they may contain, most of which are fixed in the most recent version. The developers don't want people downloading older versions, nor should you attempt to download older versions from any site other than WolfQuest, as in doing so you may expose your computer to harmful software, viruses/malware or potentially-unwanted add-ons with the installer.

A lot of sites that offer the game for download only redirect you to WolfQuest's website. In addition, the WolfQuest Team do not want the game redistributed off-site. This is the key reason you can't find the installer hosted off of their website.

The pure white puppy is a reward: to get it, you must have achieved at least 50,000 Experience Points. There is a glitch which allows this to be accomplished quickly and easily; refer to the related link for details.

Once you have the required amount of experience points or above, your first-born puppy (puppy1 by default) will instead have the pure white pelt. The pure white pelt lacks most markings seen on the regular white pup coat, making it more distinguishable.

If you're referring to having regular white puppy pelts, as of 2.5 this is no longer possible as a result of a bug in the game's coding that can only be patched by the developers, causing all pups born to render a "default" grey/brown coat at birth. This has no effect on the pure white puppy- having 50,000 or more experience points will always grant you this reward.

WolfQuest cannot be played on your browser. You must download and install WolfQuest in order to play it; the download is safe, as the game was created on Mac computers and is 100% virus-free. Anti-virus program alerts are false positives unless another malicious source has been detected on your computer. WolfQuest has no malicious add-ons provided you only download it from a reputable source (its own website is guaranteed to be safe).

No. It's strongly suggested that you only download/play the game from its official website to ensure maximum computer and account security. Downloading from another source could introduce malicious software to your computer; the game was created with Mac computers and is guaranteed to be safe from its official source. Be safe.

By default, pressing the space bar is the command for your wolf to eat.

If this key binding does not work, before clicking 'Play!' after starting the game, click 'input' and locate the key binding for action and change it to another key. This should correct the issue.

You must register at the official WolfQuest website.

After registering, your account will be queued for approval; this is mainly to prevent spammers/spambots and to limit questionable/inappropriate usernames. Only after your account has been approved will you be able to login to the forums or play multiplayer games. Please be patient and give at least four days for this process to happen; if after this duration your account is still not active, it's a good idea to contact the board administrator via e-mail. It will usually take 1-3 days for a newly-registered account to be activated by an administrator. However, if your account contains anything against the forum guidelines, such as an inappropriate username/e-mail address, your account will not be activated immediately. In this case, you'll have to e-mail wq_admin.

If your account is still inactive after 4 days, you will need to e-mail in to find out what's going on with your account. Be patient - there are dozens of new accounts every day, so it will take time for your account to be approved. :)

As soon as your account has been activated, you will receive an e-mail and you should from then on be able to log in to the forum and game.

The first question is, "Have you downloaded an older version of WolfQuest?" The second one is, "How old are you?" And it gives categories like 5-9, 10-14, and so on. The next question is, "Are you........(Male, Female)?" Then, "Do you live (Urban, Suburban, Rural) area?" Then, "What country do you live in?" And that's it! Hoped this helped! Pop-ups are usually associated with ad-ware, viruses, or other malicious material. WolfQuest is a safe website- you shouldn't see any pop-up windows, though this depends on your browser.

If you suspect a virus, run a full scan just to be safe and remove whatever appears in the results. Again, the WQ website and game are both virus-free. If there is an infection it was likely picked up elsewhere.

The WolfQuest Team is currently in the process of developing an app for iPad devices with plans to bring it to Android and Kindle devices later on. The estimated release date for the app is set between September - December 2014.
