Does yawning cause leg hair to grow?
No. Yawning does not cause leg hair to grow. What does cause leg hair to grow (either thicker or darker) is shaving, genetics, and your overall hormones in your body.
Why do you think we yawn when we are sleepy or drowsy?
your body yawns because it needs more oxygen, when we get tired that's when the body gets low on oxygen
Why do people yawn when their tierd?
when you are tired, your breathing slows, which means less oxygen travels to your brain, thus causing you to yawn.
When you start singing why do you yawn?
I yawn when I start singing because it will lower your layrnx when you sing which will let you hit those high notes with power and not to crack your voice. I am in high school, at each year the choir teachers tell us this at the start and we also do an exercise every day at school. Hope this helps you.
Is it true that if you touch your wile yawning you'll stop yawning?
If you touch your what? Finish the question before asking it.
When you yawn how fast does air travel?
Hi, my name is Dr. Stephens and this is a question that I frequently get asked. According to scientific research, air is measured in yorths; given by the scientist Dwayne Yorths. Depending on the force of the yawn, there is a probability that a single yawn can travel up to 3000 yorths/fn
This might not make much sense to you due to the fact that this is a improvised, made up answer.
Thanks for wasting your time.
Dr. Stephens
How do you write a yawning sound?
In texting or IM, you may write *yawns* or use a "sleepy face" if at hand.
Why do you yawn while on life support?
There are two primary reasons that we yawn. The first is to cool the brain says Andrew Gallup, a researcher in the Department of Biology at Binghamton University. According to a study conducted by Mr. Gallup brain temperature was a controllable cause of yawning. The second reason is to regulate Carbon Dioxide levels. Yawning is great way for the brain to ex hail large levels of retained Carbon Dioxide. Carbon Dioxide represents an acid in the blood stream and is manipulated to maintain normal Ph levels.
Hope that helps.

Why do Olympic athletes yawn before competition?
it is believed to be a way for the body to bring in more oxygen and rid itself of load of carbon dioxide. Other theories suggest that we yawn to wake up, or to induce relaxation.

I hit my head 5 days ago and the pain is getting worse it hurts to blink eat and yawn.?
I suggest you go see a doctor as soon as possible. You might get a concussion.
Does yawning have anything to do with being tired?
Technically, no it doesn't. it's one of the bodies natural reactions to a buildup of CO2 in the body
The reason for yawning is to send oxygen to the brain in order to replenish it, it's basically your brain falling asleep on you.
What is the benefit in yawning?
Yawning is actually putting out (?) the stress in your body, so it is a good thang...
This is for a science fair. How can you test whether or not smiling or yawning is contagious?
By doing a fair test. You have to ensure that there are no external triggers that could affect your results eg testing yawning after a particularly boring seminar. A good test would be at the local mall. Have a group set up to smile at strangers and a group set up (at the other end) to yawn at strangers. Monitor their responses. If you do it on the same day you are taking a similarly representative sample ie homemakers and shopping moms. In fact you could target women at a mall and run an identical test (yawners at one end, smilers at the other) at a ball game to see if men were equally susceptible.
Of course there are problems with this. Who is smiling? Who is yawning? Do people smile back at a blue eyed, busty tester more than a black, male assessor? Are yawns contagious despite ethnicitiy or do black people respond more to black yawners and vice versa? Testing human behaviour is not an exact science!
It is because of lack of oxygen, tiredness, or boredom. Another interesting thing is some researchers also believe that groups of the stone age men yawned to intimidate others by showing their teeth, or to show the group a sign it's time to retire or sleep. Also the people who yawn were considered less energetic and hence were protected and sheltered by the others, not allowing them to get in to any danger.
Why does a spray of water come out of mouth when yawning?
The sublingual caruncle is found under your tongue (either side of the frenulum - the small folds going from your tongue and the cavity floor).
This is where two salivary glands, the sublingual and submandibular glands, empty into the oral cavity. That is why saliva will sometimes spray out when you lift your tongue while yawning.
