This is easy, you where asked for the zip code because you aren't in your proper region/location/contry, for example
if you use olx.com, you are using united states ad publishing... now if you use olx.com.ph (for philippines) you won't get to be asked for zip code but rather point out where your ad posting be published...
the zip code in olx.com is asking for a US zip code, in that sense olx is asking you where to post the ad
