When you register on WikiAnswers you submit your email. When you receive a trust point, you also receive an email stating that you have received a trust point. The username or IP address who gave you the trust point will not be included however. You can also look on your profile page and see the trust point count.

Why doesn't WikiAnswers let you know who awarded you a trust point?

It does not matter who gave you a Trust Point; it has been discussed in the past to allow a user to view which answers they received a Trust Point for, but this is not yet programmed.

How can you find out who gave you your trust points?

Trust your Trust PointsAt present, there is no way for you to determine who gave you a trust point, unless the contributor who did so informs you via your message board. An encouraging thing to do is to leave a message for the user to whom you give a trust point and to tell that user why you gave it. Most users are not only happy to receive the trust point, but also to get the message!

Is there a way to see who gave you a trust point?

no , unless they say.

You gave yourself a trust point will that cause others not able to give you one?

No. I did the same thing, I gave myself a trust point just to see what happened, so I had 1 trust point. About 2 weeks later some one else gave me a trust point, so now I have 2. Don't worry, other people can still give you points, just remember that 1 point doesn't really count.

Is there a way to tell which of your contributions were recommended and earned you trust points?

Unless the person tells you which question they gave you the point for, there is currently no way to tell which contribution earned you the trust point.

Are trust points good or bad?

They're good. They mean that someone liked an answer you gave.

Does having trust points have anything to do with giving trust points?

It sort of depends what you mean. You can get trust points from people that you have given them to, but most are given at random and you never have an idea who gives them to you. The people with many trust points that I have given trust points to never knew, unless I told them and then sometimes they would give me one also. The PC answer is that you get trust points from answering questions, But I suspect the greeters get quite a few from the people that are new when they receive a welcome message from the greeters. I know I gave my greeter a trust point even before I gave myself one. However to answer your question you could give trust points to every contributor you see the link for and never get one back. After you have given a trust point to a contributor the link changes to send message because you can only give each contributor a trust once. That is the only way anyone can tell for sure if you gave someone a trust point and only you can see that your link has changed. There are no rules against letting someone know that you gave them a trust point and if you let them know the reason you may find that many people will also give you a trust point back. Some reasons could be I liked your answer to " ??? " question, or I noticed all your contributions to the site, or I noticed ??? about your bio page. That is probably the only method that giving trust points can also get you trust points. Now if you were asking if you need points to be able to give them you don't need any trust points to be able to give hundreds or even thousands. The only thing necessary to give trust points is that you click on the link to recommend contributor.

Is there a way that you can find out who recommends you on this site?

Unfortunately, no. Though, some people choose to acknowledge that they gave you a Trust Point.

Can you find out on which questions you got your trust points?

No, not really; you never know when someone will read your answer. It may be months after you wrote it. In addition, people give you trust points for other things such as a great bio page, or helping with editing and organizing things. You also never know who gave you a trust point, unless the person who did so leaves you a message on your message board to tell you about this.
