To chat with someone on Moshi Monsters, you can go to your Pin Board in your room. Click on the Pin Board, click on "add a message", write the message and then post it to your board. If your friend messages you, click reply, then click post. To chat with another monster, you can also go to their room and click on their Pin Board and post a message.

To keep people from seeing the messages on your Pin Board on Moshi Monsters, when someone sends you a message, you can choose to delete it instead of approving it. If you post a message to someone else's Pin Board, the only way to keep other people from seeing it is to ask that person to delete the message from their Pin Board. Or just don't post any messages at all. Keep in mind that Moshi Monsters staff monitor messages, so if you post any message that is against their rules, it will most likely be seen by a staff member before it gets posted anywhere.

To post a message on a user's message board, click on the user's name wherever it appears on the site. It will take you to a page where you can click on "(user's name) personal message board." When you leave a message, they will be notified with a New message! indication in the menu at the top left.The user can respond to your message in the same way, or by clicking the "Reply" button on your message. You can also go to a user's bio page, and in the right-hand corner is a link to "Message user." Click on that, and it will direct you to another page where you can add a message to the user whom you want to contact.
