Well - you wont have such of problems if you order from Tobaccoonline.co.uk

The terms are clear - any customs troubles = we reship the goods.

Black and white sales and delivery terms:

www.tobaccoonline.co.uk

For those praising sites not accepting credit cards you are BADLY WRONG.

If you use your credit/debit card for any purchase you are 100% covered - the merchant MUST deliver within reasonable time frame /30 Days max/

If you make payment via a bank wire transfer - you may also send your money to Nigeria - same result- no way to defend yourself.

If the purchase is made with credit card you have always a shield like a dispute.

Dispute placed with you credit card issuer results the merchant /seller/ to be obligated to respond otherwise the charge will be reversed ,and if the merchant /seller/ gets more than certain percentage of disputes,or charge backs - he will not only loose money

from your transaction- he will also be subjected to a high penalty and or merchant account closure.

So before you pay someone by depositing funds into their bank account - think twice.

Be aware of the "small print" before you agree to the sales terms.

All the best

I don't know about tobacco king but I bought from "www.tobaccoonline.co.uk " and "cheapcigarettetobacco.co.uk". tobaccoonline was fine BUT DON'T BUY from cheapcigarettestobacco . Come up "cheap cigarettes made in Australia" on Google. They took charge twice from my bank account. They admitted their mistake and said will refund shortly but never done. Also half of cigarettes didn't arrive.

Yes, I and my friends have had a few deliveries from www.tobaccoking.co.uk and they have always arrived on time and the quality is exactly the same as we buy in the UK. They don´t ask for any card or bank details, but send you payment instructions with the confirmation. Would definitely recommend them.

*** BE WARNED ***

As a warning to others I have decided to write on here. I bought from Tobacco king a few times and all was ok. When I placed a bigger order it did not arrive, despite many communications with them I never got the tobacco. Here are a few emails I sent them and the contradicting emails I received

(Mine)I received your email on 30th September and unfortunately I have still not received my tobacco. Could you please follow it up your end to see what is happening with it, I have allowed extra time for the Postal Strikes. Thank you.

(His) We have just checked the progress of your goods on the Correos (Spanish Post Office) website and, sorry to say, but we can see that they haven´t moved since 30/9. From past experience we know that this means they have been stopped by Customs. Your tracking number is ********** so if you go tohttp://www.correos.es/dinamic/plantillas/home1.asp you can see where your goods are. We have printed out below what it says on their website. Unfortunately this is beyond our control and Customs will confiscate and destroy the goods. This is not a regular occurrence but does happen from time to time and we point out twice in our FAQ to check the legality. Over a year our regular customers save 100s of pounds or more, even if they lose some goods to Customs. We value your business and as a gesture of goodwill we will give you a 20% discount on your next order, so that over the 2 orders you will still make a saving, compared to UK prices.

(Mine)Thank you for your email

I do not understand why Spanish customs would seize the tobacco as it is not illegal to send it out of the country. I have purchased tobacco abroad before and had it seized by UK customs and I was then informed by them so I had the option to lose it or pay the excess duty.

Previous orders from you have been sent from within the UK and sent Recorded Delivery why was this one different?

I would appreciate it if you could explain these points please, thank you.

(His) We have checked with Correos and the goods were taken at Stanstead. We send our customer´s orders all packed and labelled in large cartons to someone else in the UK who then sends them on by recorded delivery to the individual customers and we lose about 5% to Customs, but Customs don´t know who you are, other websites send the goods direct to the customer by post and lose 15-20% to both customs and theft (because all postmen know that most small parcels coming from Spain are tobacco products). Our regular customers, like yourself, save 100s or more per year even if they lose some to Customs.

(Mine) Thank you very much for getting back to me so quickly, it is appreciated.

As I know where the package is and it is labelled I can now contact Stanstead Airport and offer to pay the excise duty so it will not be a total loss. Thank you again for your help.

(His) You won´t get them as they are not sent direct to you. Why would you want to bring yourself to the notice of Customs?

(Mine) I have contacted Customs and Excise at Stanstead Airport and enquired about seized packages. They have informed me that if a package has been seized they legally would have had to inform me so I would have the opportunity to appeal against the seizure, they say if I have not received a letter from them then no goods were seized. I have not yet given them personal details as I wanted to clarify it with you first. Can you please tell me on from which airport they were sent and on which date. Thank you.

(His) We explained the method of sending them in a previous email. The way we send them stops customs getting your name. They write to our UK contact and we don´t appeal because no one ever wins.

(Mine) This is what you wrote in a previous email

We send our customer´s orders all packed and labelled in large cartons to someone else in the UK who then sends them on by recorded delivery to the individual customers

This states that the customers label is already on the package ready for distribution within the UK which is why I believe they would have contacted me and all the other customers who had an order in the carton if they seized it.

I will contact them again tomorrow and give them my personal details and hopefully they will then be able to clarify it for me. If you could tell me from where and on what date they were sent it would be appreciated

(His) The dates are on the Correos website and you have their tracking number. Only once have they ever written to all the customers in the carton. Regardless of what you think Customs do not always give the information as it is, because they want to shut down all the internet tobacco sites and they feel that the best way is to cause problems between the buyers and the sellers.

(Mine) As you have contradicted yourself several times in your emails regarding customers names being revealed on the packages and customs have not contacted me I can only conclude that the tobacco was never sent to me. Obviously there is nothing I can do about it but I find it very sad that when people put their trust in you it is abused. I am on low income and can ill afford to lose that kind of money but I will accept the loss and just hope your conscience prevents you doing this to others.

(HIs) Your wrong, you know we send the goods. We send the packages in cartons to someone else, who sends them on. Although each package has the customers names on them, they send the letter to our person in the UK, who never bothers to keep them, because they are warning letters that we ignore. Only once have they ever sent letters to each of the people in the carton. I wish they would then we wouldn´t be having this correspondence. Unfortunately it was your first purchase, but there is nothing we can do about it.

(Mine) This was not my first order, I have ordered several times from you before which is why I am so disappointed.

Again in your email you have contradicted yourself. You say that only once have letters been sent out to all the customers and your previous email says the way you send them stops customs getting our names.

( We explained the method of sending them in a previous email. The way we send them stops customs getting your name. They write to our UK contact and we don´t appeal because no one ever wins.)

According to the Correos website the goods with the number you sent me are still there as there has been no movement shown since 30th September even that seems strange if the goods were sent to Stanstead Airport it would show the movement out of your country which it does not.

As each email contradicts a previous one I think it is natural for me to be suspicious and in turn very disappointed. I thought you were a reliable source that I could depend on and I am saddened to find you are not.

(HIs) If you have had a number of deliveries from us you should know we are honest and always send the goods, which we do. We can only give you info as we get it from Correos. They told us that the goods were taken at Stanstead. Preventing customs knowing your names was because the goods are inside the carton, but as we said usually they only send a letter to our UK contact in Oxford. He never keeps them, in fact because he recognizes the envelope he doesn´t even bother opening them. You will have saved lots of money with us in the past, because all tobacco websites have the same problem are you going back to buying from a shop? We put enough warnings on our site to check the legalities, but you obviously either didn´t check or didn´t care, but now prefer to blame us. We are sure you are disappointed, we´re not happy about it, we would rather all the goods got through, but it really is pot luck, we had a period where we lost nothing for 9 months, but that was a lucky period. Try someone who sends the goods in individual packages from Spain and see how many just disappear from theft (mainly postal workers).

DO NOT USE TOBACCOKING.CO.UK - THEY ARE SCAMMERS!

IF YOU HAVE ORDERED TOBACCO AND NOT RECEIVED IT, PLEASE POST ON HERE SO THAT WE CAN ALL GET TOGETHER AND TAKE ACTION!

i also ordered from tobacco king - they have a very relaxed attitude - it must have been seized - no offer of a refund

I also lost money to them Carl Jackson who banks at Lloyds who couldn't care less that one of their customer accounts is there to defraud people & commit V.A.T fraud & probably Income Tax Evasion. I lost £183 in Sept/Oct 2009. I was told the same bulls**t by them as the long review above (interesting read well written) I decided to call the police as when I checked with H.M customs they told me they hadn't confiscated any parcel addressed to me. If there was a confiscation by Customs one has the opportunity of paying the tax, which I would have done. I was under the impression they were a U.K wholesaler as they advertise themselves as "Tobacconists based in Edgware" The Police initially showed some interest in investigating further & issued Crime No & interviewed me (by phone) twice, unfortunatly they said they couldn't take it any further due to lack of evidence, but it at least brings the name CARL JACKSON to their attention, probably not for first time! I notice that they have stopped using tobaccoking website, probably as there are too many negative reviews. I bet they are thieving people's money via some other site. Willom88

This is not an economically sound use of tobacco, but it is useful. Back in the day when the cost of cigarettes was modest, a cigarette could be used to make a plant spray that resists insects. Simply dropped an unused cigarette into about a quart of water. Let it stand overnight. Remove and discard the cigarette and pour the now brown liquid into a spray container. The liquid can be sprayed on house plants as often as necessary. It may be useful for outdoor plants but, given the cost of cigarettes today, not as useful. NOTE: This liquid is no safer than any other commercial product used to deter or kill insects, but it is safer than smoking the cigarette.
