The answer is YES and NO. It was a Saltwater Fish so YES it did live in the ocean, but now it is extinct (as per 7 years ago) so NO they no longer live in the ocean sadly enough.

The female paddlefish releases eggs into the water, which are then fertilized by the male paddlefish. After fertilization, the eggs develop into larvae before hatching into young paddlefish.

Paddlefish snack on each other cause they love the tasty good sensation of the paddlefish... they may eat plants an some other kinds of fish... but who nows not me!
