You can change the constitution an unlimited amount of times. However, it is extremely difficult to do so because either a 2/3 majority vote is needed in both houses or 2/3 of state legislatures must agree on an amendment which they will present to Congress to vote upon. The US Constitution is one of the most flawless constitutions in the world and has been the influence of many other countries' constitutions, most notably for the breakup of the Soviet Union. The Constitution has only been amended 17 times (not including the Bill of Rights, an additional 10) which is unbelievable considering it has been used for almost 250 years.
