The Zimmermann Telegram was from the Foreign Secretary Arthur Zimmermann in 1917.
Basically, NO. Germany and Russia attacked Poland on 1 September 1939 and conquered it within a couple of weeks. There was not enough time for any country to take action to help them.
It was a major turning point in World War II because it was Hitler's mistake. Germany lost the battle of Stalingrad so it crippled Germany
America never joined/allied with Germany in World War I and II. America was an ally and Germany was an axis. But America did join partially because of Germany. Germany announced that they would use their submarines on anyone and America felt threatened and decided they needed to take action. Germany also contacted Mexico and asked Mexico to help Germany defeat America.
The Zimmermann Note, a secret telegram sent by Germany to Mexico in January 1917, proposed a military alliance between Germany and Mexico if the U.S. entered World War I against Germany. It promised Mexico the territories of Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona in return for their support. The British intercepted and decoded the message, then shared it with the U.S., leading to outrage among Americans. This revelation, along with Germany's unrestricted submarine warfare, shifted public opinion and political sentiment, ultimately pushing the U.S. to join the war against Germany in April 1917.
Final ground offensives were in the making. Armies needed to ensure that the allies didn't get the necessary equipment/supplies, thus giving the German armies all the help they could get.
